I havent really been doing much on the Hatch Lately, so i havent really been giving any updates.
Well here is the latest, i was lucky enough to get my hands onto a 253 Stroker.
Here are the specs (Wat i know)
253 Stroked to 290cui
Bottom end balanced and Blue printed
Edelbrock Torker Manifold
Mild Porting of the heads
Elec Dizzy Curbed to the cam.
Not sure of the exact specs yet, but there is about $3000 worth of reciepts
I got to drive this engine a few months back in another car and wow she hammered, i would say it goes better than most warm-mild 308's
Well i took out my old pretty much standard 253 and sold it, and now put in this new baby!
Now it sits nicely in the engine bay and i reckon it looks shit hot! I decided not to paint the engine orange like the old one, and thought i would go something different, Gary (Guns n Roses) Suggested silver, so i went that!
Anyway here are some pics of the engine etc.
Sorry bout the crap pics, but the sun was in the wrong spot when i was trying to take them, so ill take some more soon and put them up!
Anyway Now just Waiting on my carb again (Dont Laugh) and i can start it up and put a smile on my face!!!

Nice looking motor, get it dyno tuned like LXCHEV said as i would love to know what figures its making. How was it stroked, was it offset ground or different crank?
Lets hope the aussie 4spd holds up, Id get under the car and give your Banjo a big smoochy kiss goodbye...LOL LOL LOL LOL

Yeah Brett i definatly would want to get it Dynoed, how much roughly is it to get it all tuned up (i remember u said u gained 10kw out of ur 253)
Yes i think i will also need one of those adapter things, i was looking at the earlier thinking it was different.
I've been talking with Tim and he said that my carby was getting put together hopefully yesterday, so if all goes well next week she will be alive!
John, im not sure how it was stroked, im getting all the reciepts soon so i will look through them all and find out, im keen to learn more about wats inside it, so hopefully the reciepts have Cam info on it as well.
Scary thing is that the Engine in its previous car spat out 2 Saginaws and also broke a 9inch axle lol, (i think both the saginaws were dying tho already)
Anyway im pumped, i really cant wait to see wat figures and times its gonna make!

Great stuff mate.. WIll be awesome to see this thing in action! Sounds like a top little engine!
I too would be MORE than interested to know whats inside and what power it ends up making cause weve got a stock 253 in our torry that will need some breathing on!!
Cheers

Not much at all (if its out of the car, its even easier!) Just Degrease the whole motor, then whipe it with wax and grease remover, making sure u got all the oil off it (or else the paint will just fall off the oil) Cover up off the bits u dont want paint and spray it with Engine Enamel (heat resistant stuff) If u want to paint ur Manifold u will need to get some Etch primer to get the Enamel paint to stick to the aluminium manifold..engine looks great, wats involved in painting an engine?
if u are trying to paint the engine in the car its a little bit more fiddly, just because its a lot tighter fit! haha

Ive got a supercharged 253 at home and evryone asks why? why supercharge a 253, why not i say, it only cost me $50 for a complete rebuilt motor, and theres less weight spinning around, so in theory it should rev faster.
Heres a sneak peak of the beast so far.
Ill be keen to see what your beast punches out on the dyno. Make sure you keep us posted.
