I would just like to confirm which sticker is the one being ordered here, as two different ones have been posted:

"Hardie Ferodo" as opposed to "James Hardie" :

Anyone else who placed an order will already know this I'm sure - but Cam has finished the stickers. I've paid for myself and MRLXSS, shouldn't be too long now until we get them!

Hi can anyone confirm if the wreath on the original HF 1000 stickers changed colours over the years? In 1974 I think it was silver not gold? I know they were gold some years though (not trying to pick holes in the stickers, just keen to know) thanks

Was looking at my VCR tape of Bathurst from 76-85 and I noticed that on some of the HF1000 stickers fitted to cars they had a red or blue dot in the middle of the reath and on one year a blue symbol on moffats falcon (about 76) which looks like a brake symbol where the reath would be...not all cars for the same year had them...maybe they were special ones that previous bathurst winners had???
On Brocks 79 A9X he has cut the sticker down and the reath is missing all together...???
Anyone care to shed some light on these stickers?

I will try and explain where they all fit in the timeline of the HF500/ 1000.

The first sticker used was this one
Posted Image

This was used on the cars from 1969 - 1972

The next change was when the event went to 1000km.
Posted Image
This was used during the years, 1973, 74, 75 & 76

The next change to the design was in 1977 where they used the one with the "blue ball" in the centre of the wreath.
Posted Image

The next change to the design was where they changed the ball colour in the wreath from blue to red
Posted Image
This was used during the years 1978 - 1980 at least.

Now here comes the confusion... a number of teams would "cut down" the sticker so it wouldn't take up so much "real estate" on the cars. so what they would use is this
Posted Image
This one was used in 1974, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1978 and 1979 (and probably 1980 and 1981)

I hope that this has helped...

BTW, if anyone has a copy of the "blue" and "red" ball type sticker, I would dearly love to get a scan of them for the collection..

cheers
Mick
