It was a good afternoon, weather held off nicely. Good to catch up with the regulars and see some new faces. Huge effort from LXChev366 travelling all that way, glad to read you got home safely.

I am looking forward to going for a run, maybe down the coast again before Keith sells his car and is Toranaless. Nice surprise to see lxsstorana turn up. ALX76 your non attendance was noted :D, catch you next time mate.

ido09s, no need to be shy, everyone was friendly and approachable.

All in all an excellent afternoon, around 16 forum members I think in total...was great to finally meet some other members and to catch up with others that we already know.. We are planning two events to happen over the next few months, one will be a cruise down the south coast area and the other will be a Eastern Creek drag night.. so keep your an eye out for these.., Tracy is currently uploading some pictures and will add them later...

As has already been said, it was great to catch up with everyone and meet some new members and new faces in person. As always great company & conversation.

I will be watching closely for details on the cruise as I will do all I can to have the Torana out on that event and not rock up in the bombadore.

If I can get the front end sorted out, I would also like to make it to the Eastern Creek event, fingers crossed. I am still trying to convince Sonia in letting me take the SS down the 1/4 in it's place.

As said, it was a great meet, with a fair few cars turning up. Sorry I had to leave early, but had to get to work, but I was happy i got the rear springs in and was able to make it out for the catch up. Looking forward to the WSID meet. It is well overdue!

nice race car LXchev366! is that photo taken at Wakefield park? how often do you race it? :spoton:

Thanks mate...yep its at WP and I normally race it 6 times a year with the NSW State Motor Racing series with the Improved Production Racing Assoc. I'm having a year off at the mo...I am rebuilding the engine. I won my class in 06 and 07 so I achieved my aims with the car.

The car has a Chev 350 stroked out to 366 which = 6 Litre, with a Tremec TKO600 5 Speed box and Ford 9 inch full spool 3.7:1 diff etc...

looks like i missed ANOTHER! good event. I flew into sydney airport at 9.45 last night (saturday) and as we were walking through the food court on the way out, made a discovery. There is a cafe de wheels in the airport! so i bought a drink and a pie, just because i missed out on going out to the liverpool one! haha.

Hope to hear some more about this cruise, and out of curiosity, who is organising this one?

As for the Drag night, I will have to convince the one who gave birth to me that i wont bend a car going in a straight line (she has this weird phobia of it all....) but even if i dont bring the torana, i will be there (like i was at the last one) for a looksie.

On a side note, no one came to the swap at gossy today? I was there until lunch time, then we packed up (in the rain!) and went home.
Felt/feel like shit though, got to bed at 1.30, was up at 5ish to head in.

Whens the next meet and greet!

Yes Tracy great photos again thanks.

On the last couple of meetings with forum members the subject of axles seems comes up, go figure :D. I thought I would post up some photos of the offending items for anyone interested.

Yeah looks like I got the dropsaw onto them. The guy from the diff shop told me that axles usually shatter and axle tramp is usually the cause. I didn't experience any axle tramp and they snapped after the 60' mark as I started to feed the power in 2nd gear. The first pass probably twisted them badly and the second pass was just the proverbial straw.

Cars, got to love 'em :tease:
