I have just finished pulling it down and made a cheap rotissary as you can see anybody can make one , i can roll it one hand i have started cutting out where the muncie was and will replace it with another one that i have already got , i am after a parcel shelf to replace the one with lots of holes in it , I have decided that since i could not buy wheels for it to make my own got 6 for $120 at Toowoombah and cut up 4 last night and ground the welds off and got the centers out today , now to buy some 14 inch rims with no centres , I will take photos of every step so i have a record of what is done , thanks to the forum i am slowly getting most parts , could not do it without you, as the help i have had with information is what i mostly needed , thanks , TREX

I made the rotissary out of left overs , i collect out of scrap bin , 50by50 rhs old terms and a bit of pipe , if you are interested can take photos of it all and what you need , its not much , i will chase wheels down shortly , i got 6 wheels from swap and cut up 4 just cut around rim above the centre and grind down around welds and carefully cut with 9 inch across the bit left and it pops off left with just a centre , they are quite solid , i beleive i need a 3 1/4 backspace instead of 4 inch ,And yes torrynut it is me minus the little cars , REX

You got the offset difference correct. If you could post a tech article on how to make a rotarypisser, I think a lot of forum members would benefit.

I have some photo's of an L34 / A9X wheel which has been put together by removing the GTS centre, then machining some material off the centre band then stepping it back into a std 6 inch rim and then re welded.. With the centre spaced back an inch they appear to be the same as L34/A9X. I believe it has been done by a professional wheel restoring company. I hope this can help.

It took me awhile but yes i know what they have doe as with a standard gts and rim you cant just take the welds off and push it back as the centre piece is too big , i am hopeing to do it and leave it the centre the full 25 or so that it is , but if not i will do what the photo has done , REX

I'm not certain but I think the only 6 inch rims that will allow that are the L34 rims. They have a wider spacing in the centre of the rim to allow the offset. Maybe a 7 inch rim will do the trick?

I dont know where the rims came from but the centers are pontiac rally 2 centers and probably put together in Australia , REX

maybe a little late 4 posting on this but the a9x/l34 wheel call eastern wheel works to cut and shut the centres do a great job and when i worked at canterbury tyre and mag they had a set of factory a9x wheels there and they sold them as gts wheels not knowingt what they were (to a mate of mine) and the pontica wheels were 15" not 14" so if you go vt brakes you MUST HAVE the pontica wheels not gts wheels as gts wheels can be put into drop down centres ie 14" wheel turned into 15" pm me 4 more info

rallye II rims came in 14 and 15", yes they are the same as GTS rims but were available in 15" also.

Like you have said there are a lot of 15" GTS rims getting around, but 99% of them are 14" centres on a 15" dropped band, where as the genuine 15" rallye II's have a larger centre to accomodate the larger size and they will work with commodore brakes but 14's wont.
