I think the transformation to LX style rear lights would complete a magnificent work of muscle art.Hey they arent my favorite piece of work either and ive seen them on many a bus, I have considered making a LX style of bolt on taillights, LED's.. kind of a conversion kit.. for UC owners... more comments please guys.

I'd not do a V8 UC again, turbo six is so much more economical.

I suppose that I wanted to pursue or post interpret the idea of what a UC SS would be like if GM didnt drop the V8 torrie, the main things I wanted to achieve in building this one was:allot of work put into it, but a bit over the top for me. Not to keen on the ss stuff on her.
1. One tough looking UC
2. Horsepower to match
3. As comfortable and easily driven as a current musclecar.
4. Niceties like central locking, good stereo and electric seats, power windows.
5. Economy, ie LPG.. a good weekend club car.
6. Something a little different as UC's dont get the airplay I think they deserve..
Cheers.. PJ

I'have lots of other images from toranafest 2006/7 and will upload some later if theres enough intrest in the thread, the intake has changed many times from 2 x 450 4BBL Holley's on Cain tunnel ram to 650 Spreadbore with nitrous on edelbrock to standard quadrajet on holden and now to 2 x gas research 400/440 cfm throttle bodies on edelbrock manifold. Cheers guys and thanks for the interest.!!!

The mirrors took alot of work to shape / fit and the paint behind them was just fine, so they arent hiding anything.. the thing about the mirrors is that when on show, the punters get a really big visual impact, lots of oohs and aahs.. theres also a few rows of red LED's that adorn the bonet and boot areas, at night it's a bit of a light show... Cheers. PJYes, a lot of work and money gone in to it, a credit to you......not keen on the mirrors, but thats just me......

Lot of detail work. Great job on the interior too, some subtle
and not so subtle stuff there too!!!!
Did you use acrylic mirror for under the bonnet?
How does it hold up to the heat, or do you remove for driving?
If you're interested in a UC SS, I did a few photochops a while back.
I'm still keen on exploring that idea, especially with a turbo.
Also have some good ideas for interiors based around UC architecture.
I like your old machine. I reckon the tail lights look better with the black
out area behind them, even the SLE chrome trim around that too.
I got a set of UC tail lights off egay the other day, and will start to play
with them shortly to see what variations can be done with paint etc.
(thought about VB/VC commy lights, and got a pair, but they would require
a lot of mucking about.)
Well done.
Cheers, Leakey

I have seen another site with the bulidup of both your UCs but did not know about the mirror work. Is the bootlid heavy with the amp mounted on it (never seen one there)?
Gets my thumbs up

yes the mirrors are acrylic, I'd be interested in seeing your photochops.. I think the neatest attempt at replacing UC tailights is that skyline setup. Thanks for your compliment.PJ that's awesome mate.

Yes the bootlid is bloody heavy with the amp mounted and I had to remove the tosion bars to fit the gas tank in so struts are the order of the day... Thanks for the thumbs up..Hi

Thanks Litre8, love your work too... just quickly last time I had a look at your website i thought it was a bit clunky navigation wise. look forward to seeing you at toranafest 08? cheers.Full marks for effort and the finished vehicle. At the end of the day it only has to satisfy your goals and expectations, regardless of other's views.

notice you avoided the tail lights in all the pictures as well, coincidence im sure..
Oh yeah.. the "ugly bits".....
I had the last spoiler blacked out and I think I'll do the same here, also around the tailights etc like the yellow one.
