Hi, just wondering what the differences are between a two-piece and a one piece front spoiler for LX (besides the obvious)? And also are there spoilers for cars with flares and spoilers for cars without flares or are they all the same?
Cheers

One piece came out on the hatch and its not as deep as the two piece spoilers!!
I think that if you get a spoiler to fit a vehicle without flares its possible to trim the ends off so it fits one with flares (please correct me if I am wrong, we may have just got lucky last time!!)

There are also a number of different varients getting around with different length brake ducts. I purchased one not long back that had brake ducts that were about an inch deep. Then I came across some moulds taken off genuine kits back in the late 70's here in Burnie!! Now I just make my own and modify them to suit each different application.

There are some aftermarket one peice front spoilers that are made from the two peice design. I bought one off ebay a few years back, I thought "great, easier to fit and still looks better". They don't fit, I threw it out, watch out for them... They are often on ebay in white gelcoat. The seller has had numerous identities over the years as he keeps getting neg feedback.

There was also a guy doing vacuum formed versions
in both one and two piece in Port Adelaide, SA.

They were made from 3mm ABS and came up well when painted.

Much better flexibility than fibreglass versions. Tended to bend rather
than break. Especially around the screw holes.

This was 15 years back mind you!!!!! But the moulds must exist.
Someone has them. Worth a ring around for a superior product.
"Do you know who did the plastic ones?......."

Best of luck.

Anyone who has a busted one piece, in any condition, can you contact me.

Cheers, Leakey

Two piece: LH SLR 5000, L34 and LX A9X (trimed on L34 and A9X to suit flares but same part number for all 3 cars)
One Piece: LX SLR 5000 and LX SS.

The 2 Piece one is larger/ deeper with bigger brake ducts, the one piece basicall has slits. In both cases the spoilers were PLASTIC originally, not fibreglass.

The spolier wraps around the guard and secures inside the lip of the guard with 2 self tapping screws on each side, where I have marked.

here are the mounting screw holes on a new front spoiler. This pic is the Right hand side, but you get the idea.

G'day guys, my LX Hatch is currently at the panel shop getting repaired and resprayed and i want to put a front spoiler on it. Rare spares (which is where im going to get em from) have both the one and two-piece options. Is it possible for me to fit the two-piece to my hatch? coz i like the deeper profile of the two-piece.

Cheers - Brooksie
