I have just started to sort out the electrical system on my LH and have a parts car that i am scavaging off and its altenator bracket mounts the altenator up higher than the motor and on the passenger side.
I have seen that some people have mounted theirs on the drivers side down low. The question i am asking is this a different bracket to the one i am using cos i have tried to reposition my bracket this way but it does not fit like this as far as i can see.
i have some pics here for your viewing so it all makes a bit more sense

Thats a HQ bracket, all you need to do is flip the alternator to the top side of the bracket for it clear in a torana.. If you flip the alternator under the bracket thats how they are in a HQ..
The bracket your after to fit on the drivers side is purely LH, LX torana, rare spares have them for about $100...

The bracket you want is from an lh/x that places the alternator low on the driver's side, its available from rare spares. The bracket you have is from a kingswood I think.
