"We like Football, Meat Pies, Kangaroos and Holden Cars"
"There's nothing quite like a Holden"
Organising an "All Holden Day" in Cairns on the 26th and wouldnt mind some old ad's over the PA during the event.
Thanks in advance............regards

Probably wont' mean much to the younger generation but I have a 45RPM size record that is played at 33 1/3 RPM , is red, flexible and semi-transparent and has 2 songs for AMOCO Petrol. Only a demo record of course and the songs are on one side only while the reverse is smooth.
It was sung by Allan Johnston who is the same fella who penned and sang the song "Come on Aussie, Come on, Come on" for the start of the "World Series Cricket" competition.
Could tape and send up if you like. It is a classic.

You said
Christ barry you have some old shit dont ya!!!! good on you!!!
Some would call me an old shit and that's OK but I do like collecting the TORANA/GMH/Acacia Ridge memorabilia and I have just "Buy Now" one of those CD's with the Holden add voice over/music CD.
A lot of car clubs are putting on a "Heritage Display" during the month of April and my car club the Cootamundra Antique Motor Club is no exception. Ours is on April 8th.
I hope to have my new ubeaut display boards ready along with the adds/music of the era of the Torana ie 60s & 70s. I have about 270 old 45 RPMs of which I am sure I can find the right music seeing how my teen years were of the 60s.
BUGGA ! That does make me feel old
Anyway, the idea of the Heritage Display is to encourage the younger generation into becoming interested in the classic/vintage etc car movement and join a car club.
Might put some pics up of our display when it happens.
Regards..............................Barry.

It went something along the lines of "ride like the devil" or something like that.
I can only vaguely remember it, and I own the black car that was used to make the ad. The red one was written off many years ago in NSW I believe.
Been trying for many years to get a copy of that ad.
I know this isnt a commodore forum, but I thought that seeing that some of you collect this type of stuff someone just might have it.

If you have that car may I suggest the Holden museum in Echuca, he has a lot of the old ads he shows in a little video room in the musuem sometimes, worth a call anyway?
Good luck

Thatnks for the tip, never thought of them.I remember an AD with the catch phrase "WATCH HIM DRIVE LIKE THE DEVIL" But it was an ad for the touring car series and mean't watch Brock. So maybe the ad you speak of was a spin off from that.
