Very keen to see pics! So it's a front-mount front sway bar? I'd like to put one of these on my LX, I can't run traditional swaybars anymore because the extractors don't allow for it!

Have you noticed any improvement/change with handling?

My swaybar mounts to the rear and is hard up against the right extractor pipe....it used to rattle and give me the shits, but since i re-suspended (?) my old girl it doesn't rattle anymore.
I noticed makka had mounted his sway bar at the front...didn't notice it mounted to bumper bar brackets though, would be interested in your pix.

I've got the old multi-point adjustable reverse mount kmac bars on mine. I'd be interested to see what the whiteline one is line in comparison.

I have a whiteline adjustable on the front of my hatch.
The problem being with a new sway bar, springs and shocks i
have no engine in the car to test it out.
Maybe when it gets back on the road i'll have to post sumfin about it.....

They are pretty solid mate. It's 3-4mm brackets with plenty of bracing. What more do you need for a sway bar?

How are u going with the pics 2WILD?

i just don't like much flex in the mounts of suspension components, dosent let them work right. 3-4mm flat aint to thick, i would be using 6mmx25mm atleast if i was to fab them up, but i'd probably use small rhs personaly.

You've seen them flex have you? Mate the chassis rails in the toranas are no where near 6mm, why would you over engineer a non load baring component? Maybe if it was a mount for a tow bar or something :tease:

Sway bars ARE a load bearing item. At rest they are not under load. Place the car through a corner and the bar loads up like a torsion bar, which exactly what it is.

Chop,
both you and Qikslr are right.....
Yes they are load bearing and they are a torsion bar transversely mounted.
But as to the mounts.....the rotating mounts. NOT THE BAR ENDS.
You will find that the torsional twist in the bar pulling one end down cancels out the other force that is pushing the bar up.Leaving a neutral force along the length of the bar.
Remember the forces are only up and down, not side/side so the force is trying to compress/ stretch the steel bar mount along it's length, which of course it can't do.
This is why you can get away with the 3mm plate on the mounts..
LC boi/ bomber boi.....
You are never going to win any races son... if you don't stop making everything out of 6mm plate!!!! :tease: Too heavy.

Cheers Greg..

^ Remember to double over the alfoil a few times though for added strength and abrasion resistance!!! :tease:
As Ben Lexcen once said... " If it breaks it is too light, and if it doesn't it is too heavy!"

Cheers Greg..
