I did call Concord Park Transport who are listed in the sticky for this reason, but they weren't the slightest bit interested and said to try a smaller freight company.
Any ideas before I hit the yellow pages??

I'll do it. PM sent.I would be very interested to know of any interstate freight companies who could possibly transport a set of extractors and an exhaust system (which is in sections), from Melbourne eastern suburbs to NSW (Sanctuary Point, 3 hours Sth of Sydney).

Just do a Yellow pages search starting at the Tasmanian end. I think you will find TNT has a branch in Hobart.Speaking of interstate freight companies. I was wondering if anyone knows of company that would transport a car from Tasmania to NSW.

I can very highly recommend VicFast transport. I have used them on numerous occassions from large boxes of car bits to extractors and have found their service to be 2nd to none. Very helpful staff and the delivery driver in my area is a very cheerful bloke and nothing is a problem to them.

Quick question for you both - how carefully do I need to package my stuff up? I am sending a pair of 4-into-1 extractors, as well as a twin 3" exhaust system, plus 2 mufflers (bolt off separately). (Melb to near Sydney).
Do they seem to be pretty careful with handling the goods?
I was thinking of going crazy with bubblewrap for the extractors to really pad them. Should I also be trying to fit them into a box? The other parts are not as bad, but I will still bubblewrap or something...
Would like to hear your thoughts.....
Many thanks.

wrap goods in bubble wrap or put into a box or wrap in cardboard.
courier drivers are only human and could accidently drop and freight does move around in trucks and trucks hit pot holes etc . packaging is important .
dont forget to address goods clearly , best with a black texta and better on A4 paper then tape address to parcel so it doesnt fall off .
cheers

To pickup from my door (Melb) and deliver to the other guys door (near Sydney) was only $75. This was for 3 packages weighing a total of 35 kg's. A MASSIVE box containg 4-into-1 extractors and some other stuff packed in with them, a 3" twin exhuast system (all one piece) which I bubblewrapped like crazy, and also another medium size box. I reckon that's an ace price. I couldn't even drive one way to Sydney for that price.
The goods are currently on their way, so we'll soon find out how the second half of their service turns out!
Thanks again for the advice with this, much appreciated

Please do not mention company names bad experiences on a public forum as the forum will be liable.
Those that wish to know the place, PM for details.

Needless to say I'm not a happy camper at the moment. This has put the engine rebuild on hold as well.
