With 1.6mm thick tank material, it is more likely to tear through the tank metal before the straps, at least you have 3.2mm of metal at the straps.

Lookin' good Yella! The other drop tank thread was more of a discussion, this one is is meant to be flooded with tough pics for ideas and inspiration. When I find some spare time (???) I am planning to dig out all my old Torana mags and scan in a heap of pics with fat ass drop tanks.

PS. Tiny - damn that is such a great photo on the skidpan! I hope you have that one printed out and hanging up on the wall somewhere.

Oh, OK! In that case, here is a drop tank going bush. Did a Brocky, double radius corner where the second corner is tighter than the first.....correct speed for the first one, too much speed for the second & ran out of road!!!!

Posted Image

^ Can tell the speed by the attitude of the car and everything being the wrong angle!!! Ugly.

I'm yet to spot any pics of UC's with drop tanks as yet, so here's my contribution!!

At the moment the tank is being modified to run the entire width of the rear, as most of you will know the spare tyre well witholds any UC sedan from having a full width tank, so i had this one custom made. I've now removed the well in order to run it at full width and approximately 135-140 litres!! But anyone interested in putting a tank in a UC without sacrificing room for the spare - this is the go!!

Cheers
Keithy

Here is the only shot we have of Jeremy's tank:

Posted Image

At the end of the year when we put his car together I will do a full photo shoot of it, with all the polished brightwork it should come up a treat and will be something for you to look forward to.

Cheers

I like the Brown Davis tanks, I had straps on mine, but got rid of them, they dont hold the tank in place , like bolts to rear rails.
