With the SLR dash and using the correct senders my engine has approx 40psi OIL pressure at idle (750rpm) but the guage only moves to the 1st 1/4, does each 1/4 represent approx 40psi, range from 0-160psi?

Also what is the range of the temperature guage?

I take it its usual that the guage takes about 10 seconds to move to its position, eg engine has pressure straight away on mechanical guage but factory guages need a bit longer to register. Is this normal?

The dash on my old a9x read about halfway for the oil pressure so I suspect the one in your car may be be out by a little. Sorry I'm not sure of the scale of the gauges. I did have a small delay at startup for the gauges to 'find' their positions though.

was that at idle or when running at halfway?

these guages are so inaccurate it isnt funny, but i cant bring myself to putting in new style guages.

That was at normal cruising speed 60-70km/h... You can always swap the innacurate gauge/s with an SL fuel gauge. I put up a guide in the Tech Articles.

The Earth for the cluster runs all the way to the front of the car.
Shorten it to a suitable length and screw it into the metal behind the dash.

This will increase the accuracy of the gauges, and help them to correct faster.

At cruise there should be near double what there is at idle.

I think im going to have to invest in some nice new autometre guages.
