Didn't get to meet many of you... couldn't make 1pm, but had the young lad with me and openned his eyes and ears
to some awesome machinery. He got a lot of signed posters from some greats, and had a good 10 minute conversation with Bob Jane
about old and new cars. It was a pleasure to watch him (my 11 year old son) and made me proud as.
Some great cars on and off the track. And those sweeeeet sounds. You cant beat it. BJ's Camaro and Moffat's 'stang were so loud!
OrangeLJ, was that your car over near the grandstand? and the persian sand hatch, was that a forum members car too? (also near grandstand)
Good to see the Kleber-Jane/Geoghegan car in the flesh and meet Rocket. Funny when you introduce yourself in the flesh and get
oh! I know you, you're the one with the rodent who swings his head around on the forum! LMAO. Good fella, and talented racer.
Great seeing two orange hatches chasing.
Speaking of which, Welby were you over? I met a Team Torana bruva but had to fly, and so did he.
Well, it told me one thing, WE NEED T-SHIRTS!!!
See you all at Toranafest, which will narrow it down a bit I guess.
Top day today.

LX5008, sorry I missed you mate!? Would loved to have caught up.
When I got there, only one of the Walky Commos was left! and I noticed quite a few of the cars in Knoath's pics
were also gone/no longer on show. Still a top day out.
Mental note, - must get to Toranafest early........

The missus, her dad and granpa got there.
Was the first time they were able to convince Max to go (her Pa)
and he loved it!
The owner of the Grice craven mild A9X even knew who he was when he was standing looking at it.
Harry Firth remembered him, Grice and his wife were exstatic to see him, Grahame Moore gave him a big hug! haha.
Max has been a bit shy about returning to anything motor racing related since his departure from it in the early 80s.
This has given him the kick in the pants, and he was pretty chuffed so many "famous" people remembered him, and wanted to chat.

It is Max Aubert,
Team manager for Esmond Motors..early 70's
Team owner of CMR car in the late 70s' / early 80's
This guys involvement in motorsport, esp. Toranas, is up there with the best.
It's great to see him recieve some of the accolades that he deserves.
I am very proud to be having him as a special guest at Harry's Dinner
cheers
Mick
