Looking at 17" x 8" GTS all round on my LJ but have a few issues before I can order them.

Firstly my LJ has SL/R type flares which make backspace different to most. ???
I now have 14" x 8" rear and have measured wheel offset from hub to inner = 4" and hub to outter = 5".
Fronts are 14" x 7" measuring 4" in and out. I need about another 1/2" out on the front and 1/4" on the rear.

Secondly what size tyres fit 8" safely min and max (eg. min 225 and max 295) ???
Now running 215/60 fronts and 245/50 rears. Want 225 front and 255 or a lil wider on the rear.
Have measured rear wheel area and will accomodate 300mm width.

Any help or advice appreciated ... or photo's of others. Thanks

Talked to Jason at LBC today ... waiting for a quote in the email system.

My offsets are front = 1/2" negative and rear = 1" negative.
Should make for some sweet dish ...

i think they are about $500 each, and from what i hear there is quite a wait for them. what stud pattern are you getting them done in evilsim.

rlj308 that photochop is not representing 17" wheels. The overall diameter is only a few milimeters larger than my 14" wheels. But each to their own ... I think 17" tyres are the way to go for future proof. Good tyres in 13" and 14" are getting harder to find.

That's what I was gunna say... That photochop, while admittedly not a bad effort, doesn't truly represent 17" wheels. There is a member here with these wheels on his blue LJ GTR... I'm not a huge fan, as I think that they need LOTS of dish to look any good.

I don't know if this is true or not but i read somewhere that 17" x 7 can be fitted to the front, and 17" x 8 can be fitted to the rear of a stock LC/LJ, apparently the car does does not have to tubbed, or even minitubbed for this to work. has anyone else heard that? :deal:

7in wide on the front with 205 wide tyres gives better clearance,8in wide on the back with 235 wide tyres...just lip the wheel arches...tricky part is getting the right offsets & diff width to tuck em under nicely or they'll rub or you have to raise the back killing the nice stance, few people have got it correct & it looks awsome imo.

Can be done without tubs but if you want wider tyres like a 255 tucked under n low mini-tubs are the way to go.

No tubbin for me. I have 245's on the rear now with plenty of room for wider. Hopefully 275's or just 255's ... time will tell.

You've got flares though :P Should look good with nice fat wheels filling them out.

I've got nothing against cars that have already been flared... I would quite readily own a flared car myself. I just don't like cutting cars up now to fit flares...

One of my dream cars is a flared hatch with fat, big diameter wheels...
