Being a QT makes it an aussie pattern.

I looked super hard at the 'O' and its definitely an O not a 'Q'

the number on the block is OT 9944*
I looked super hard at the 'O' and its definitely an O not a 'Q'
Is it QT9944x or QT9944xx ?
The first one is HQ and will definitely be a 4spd block. The second is mid 1978 HZ and could be either 4spd or Chev pattern.
One easy way to tell is by the dowel size. Holden is small, Chev is huge. And you can pick it from the front too.
If it has an OT prefix it's either been decked and you've lost some number depth hence the Q looks like an O or it's been restamped incorrectly. Holden didn't use I or O in the letters on engine numbers or casting dates so it's not a mis-stamp.
