My other half thinks cars are for getting from A to B, and to be used as a mobile garbage bin. She hates cars so you can imagine it's an issue

I just read all these posts and i must say it's not looking to bad, most have a partner in their lifes that share the same passion about cars as they do.

I know i'm a lucky guy because my GF absolutly loves Torana's when i meet her she had no idea what kind of car i drove and when she saw it she laughed in amazment because she has a picture on her louge room wall identical to my car. Julz also used to race a porsche 944 and now has her own LX 4 door soon to be race car, Julz wants to even have a car hoist in a 4 car garage the list goes on.

Julz is always interested in what i'm doing when i work on the Torana and often helps me. She loves the car shows and of course all the car raceing she can get.

I must be one of the unlucky few - my G/F thinks I spend too much time and $$ on the LX.....she does admit it looks nice and shiny and red but that is about where it ends.

My Missus shares a passion for my Torrie........a passion of the dislike kind.......refers to it as "that thing!" As in "im NOT getting in THAT THING unstill you have racing harnesses in it !"

Chicken i say....chicken...

Yet she does want me to buy her an RS2000, and she does love going 4X4ing in the bush, diff locks on, mud eveywhere, absolutely loves it....

so shes a petrol head....no too bad.....

Oh my wife just loves my passion with cars.
She looks at it this way for every $1 I spend on the torana she can spend
$2 on her pottery!!!!
UUUMMM that should be... I can GIVE HER $2 for every dollar I spend.
So she wants me to spend heaps, even suggested I keep the XU1 and the L34.
My brain won over my heart though and I sold the XU1.
(mind you she wont go in the Torry when its finished)

Oh well "happy wife, happy life"........ so they tell me !!!!

I've been with my missus almost 8 years now..........and i've got a feeling she had an idea of taming me in my ways or converting/rebuilding me into a higher spec model.....

Now i'm fully domesticated with regards to house cleaning, putting the toilet seat down, not using certain offensive words outside of work and a variety of other things that make single men snigger at me........

But try and whinge'n'bitch as she does I've still got a shed and rumpus room full of cars and crap (tools & parts) and i'm keen to expand even more which is usually met with a barrage of carry on.

Once upon a time she loved me playing with cars, she enjoyed the enthusiasm of a new project, a long wanted part, or just the pleasure of a lesiurely stroll through a swap meet hand in hand until i needed to carry something or eat my sausage and bread.

Nowdays things have changed............i suspect she'd be more happy if i gave it all away and took up sewing or gardening but hey a mans got to do what he's got to do...........

Long live the Torana (and a few other makes)............who knows they might be the reason for a separation (wouldn't be the first guy)

P.S. I'm happy with my wife and life............just having a bitch :spoton:

By the way.........now i normally venture through a swap meet on my own or with a mate............only time i ever get to hold hands is when some weird long bearded bloke really wants me to "check out his stuff" :tease:

What can i say ..my missus knows i love em.. and she is slowly learning , but she will probadly never understand how i can justify buying so much $$$ on them.

But she does love cruising with me but complains about the fuel smell on clothing afterwards, but i guess if i put fuel injection system that problem coulkd be fixed , now how do i convince her that i need another 10 grand LOL.

My wife "likes" my XU-1 , but hates car show. In her words "it's the same old stuff all the time".
Anyway , we had an agreement before we married which was "last in , first out".
She understands. I had the XU-1 before we got married...simple..

My boyfriend is jealous of my car coz it gets more attention than his car!! He drives a gtr skyline & even tho his car is faster than mine, mine still gets called 'the beast' by his friends, instead of his car. he gets quite angry, hehehe :-) oh well, i had my car before i started going out with him so theres not much he can do!

MY missus sympathised with me when i lost my licence and agreed i'd spent less time with her over the next 15 months getting the car built, she didnt think i meant every day.

She loves the colour of my LH, the day i started it with only pipes on, she politely asked, why is is so loud and lumpy. I just smiled and knodded, asking again will it always be that loud. lol

Now that im trying to sell her, she wants me to take her for a spin first.

Tolerates more than anything

Cheers
