The previous owner replaced the vinyl roof but didnt seal it and water came straight into the window sill everytime it rained

The blue painted doorways so that i could paint the car when it was all together

Nice job on your HR Jacko. Great to see a younger guy with such an original early Holden.

took about 7 months, the booster is a VH-40 or 44, they came standard with the HRs that had the disk brake front end, im pretty sure

an afternoon to glue it back down but the trouble was heating up the garage to stretch the vinyl.

used an outdoor heater and the place got pretty damn sweaty.

That's a factory setup, as you said disc's are boosted.
I had a factory HR disc setup in my EH wagon and was same, same! incl booster.

Mmmmm that is neat. What box?

And where are you from? Will have to bring it on a Torana cruise when we start organizing them!

oh and it runs a powerglide

it slips a little so that might be the next thing i re do on the car, ive heard its not too hard to rebuild a powerglide by yourself

I know sfa about autos so I can't help you out there, but can I suggest you look into putting a Trimatic in? You might be very concerned about originality and that is cool; each to their own, just seems like a two speed auto would be a massive pain in the arse.

I don't know if we have any members directly in Narre, but loads in the south eastern suburbs

Good stuff

the 2 speed isnt too bad, just means that overtaking is a bit harder and its almost impossible to spin the wheels as the 1st gear is so tall.

i have a new cam installed and its pretty good on torque, goes around 20kmh in top gear

yea i am keeping it for origionality, however the powerglide still performs well around town, gets high rpm on the freeway but i beleive the trimatic has the same ratio top gear so that wouldnt solve the problem

if i was to change the gearbox it would be to a manual anyway, maybe my next car...

Yep fair enough I just thought you might be going for the cruise feel. You can change your diff ratio if you want lower RPM @ 100km/h (there are lots of ratios availible with Banjo diffs), but that will make your "so tall" first gear even taller (hence the attraction of the three speed haha). Cheers
