My SS is leaking fuel from the gauge unit on the tank, is it just a seal? do I have to drain and remove the tank to get it out? in the book it says you need a special tool to get the unit out, do you?
Thanks if you can help out.

It is just a seal, I took a perished one along to Rare Spares and they found a replacement that did fit with no problems.

If one has the right tool it would be nice, but to remove mine I used a couple of screwdrivers ever so carefully. It's a bayonet fit.

Umm don't try it with a full tank lol but it is rather high from memory.

Cheers

yeah its just an o-ring type seal, and yes drain the tank first and also buy some fuel line to replace the rubber bits as they do perish a bit with age and its a lot easier to do the lot while you are under it.
