Down the straight at Phillip Island it used to pull 6200 in top gear, now it revs to 7.
Thats almost 30 km/h difference, great for the racetrack but no such a big deal on the street.
As a few have said already, if you are going to get your heads ported and buy a performance manifold anyway, go VN heads, for the $$$ it will cost, it will give you a decent power boost.

After all its only $1500 that you could easily make back if need be.
Nows the time to be doing these little kind of things, before a house.

Im sure if you used your present gear bolted together correctly with the stroker crank (if ur keeping it) and a 5L block you will be happy for a while.

Old Style heads can be very good on a streeter, and help push out some good numbers.... But if you are spending some coin on your motor and want good results... Spend that little bit more and get VN Heads.

As far as flow figures go HQ 2184 head with 1.94 valves go 480-497 flow potential. 2.02 valves go 490-515 flow potential.
Vn pocket ported with 1.94 stock valves will go 500-515 , Stainless valves will go 520-530. 2.02 pocket ported go 560 no drama
2.02 full port job go 610-630. 2.05 go 620-640. 2.08 go 640-660 flow potential.
Manifolds I prefer the Harrop to anything else in a carb application, unless you want to stay under the bonnet in that case a ported hywinder is a good thing.

do you have any experience with the torque-power hi-rise dual plane i am in the market for a vn head manifold for my 330 stroker, and need some good advice from some who know's what there talking about and it seems your just the man! i will be running the engine in a lx with an A9X bonnet scoupe so high is an issue, having said that money is so i would like to know if the gains with a TP would be noticed more so than a harrop
thanks in advance...

all fits under my scope.i even have a half inch spacer under the carb now.no problems.air cleaner is a kn,14x4 inch with a inch and a quater drop base
.
this is the height difference between a holden tourquer manifold, and the tp hi rise duel plane

looks good on the motor

and in the car

what are your engine specs?
How much room do you have between your air fiter and top of the scoupe?
How much did you pay for the manifold?
damn! it looks nice !

not much room left under scope.i wouldnt put a inch spacer on it.i have torana engine mounts to btw
manifold was around $800
rough specs
holley 750 dp
355
very.mild head work,standard vales
11.5 comp
no port matching
full balance
cam=236@50 which doesnt really rev past 6 grand, with a 355.works well with the duel plane.
the motor makes the same amount of torque as horse power, with exelent drive ability on the street
