Ok guys what size needles/jets are in standard XU1 carbies - 175 cds and what sizes does anyone suggest for 192 bore, Crow 35802 cam, small chamber head probly 10-1 comp, large valves, rollers, double springs, regraphed elec dizzy
Needles in at the moment have been ground so very rich

Original were 6D needles for the 175CD
6E for the 150 CD
And going on memory the LC Bathurst had a 5HF (Harry Firth) good luck finding
that one!!!

we're using 6J needles in the race car, i've got the size specs
somewhere with the difference to 6D's, basically the needle is
a bit bigger at the idle end(stops engines with lot's of overlap
from hunting at low engine speed) but they're a lot smaller
at the other end. The engine wouldn't idle with 6D's, whereas
now it does, and pull's very strongly to 7000 rpm. I'll dig out the
specs and post them tonight. SU Midel in Lakemba (NSW) has the
6J needles.
