I mentioned in another thread that I would like to post about my other projects
This one is a 1927 chev woody
I thought I should post some pics of the one that I am building from scratch
I was given a 27? chev cowl
a unknown chassis
and a mate located a couple of guards for me
I didnt take many pics of the boxing of the chassis but I'm running a hg front with ford discs and a eb ford diff with leaf springs
I was going to run a holden 202 and trimatic and initially set the car up for that combo ,but have redone the firewall and dropped a 253 auto in.
I was given some ford rims to help set up my ride height they are 17"s
with 275 on the rear and 235 on the front
I hand built the body frame and recessed the firewall
I had to repair the guards where the spare wheel used to be
and I made the running boards and valance panel
and also made a modified wheel opening and changed the style of the front guards
also in that pic you can see me starting to fill in the gap around the rear wheel arch
I also widenned the front guards as they seem to slope inwards
heres a couple of side profile shots of the remade guards and running boards
I also had to widen the rear guards and make the infill panel just to neaten up the rear
I then wanted suicide style doors
Next was to change the engine and firewall to run a v8 and thats where I am roughly up to now .
will be starting on the wood work soon
here are the last few pics
here the pic I Have on the wall for inspiration
got it of the internet (forgot where )
I 'm kind of heading for the cartoony look(if thats a word )
hope you enjoy
will update soon

Your inspiration pic has 28-29 front guards.
You've used 30 guards?
Would you change em over if you found a set like in the cartoon?
You can get some nice spreader bars now with indicators integrated into the tubes - just FYI
When are you moving to Brissy? Pleeeeease.
Grant..

Actually the inspiration pic was just to give me the overall look of a wooden bodied tourer.
The guards were like that in the start ,but I didnt like the look of the big gap behind the wheel
so I widened them and enclosed the wheel arch
original guards
widened
covered in wheel arch

Looks neater the way you have it IMO.
Looking great mate, as with your other stuff.
