I am scared that trufit do nto do a good job anymore. I have used them on all my cars and had great success with their carpets, including my 73 galant and 76 galant, as well as my EH. The fitment of the carpet for my wife's beelte was great too. I did use a new underfelt and also manipulated the carpet. I suppose it does help that I am in teh state for trufit and that I am literally only 15 minutes from them but I have only needed to wait 45 minutes for carpets before. I also only use plush pile so this might be part of the issue as well. Kaz I would have returned the product due to the heel fault as a faulty product, this should have been picked up in QC...

Anyways

Cheers

When moulded carpets hit the scene it the 80's i bought mine from tru fit carpets on silverwater rd silverwater, it was laid out on a floor pan with other carpets on top.

Fitted perfectly but in saying that my nephew just had some posted in a nice ball, it is going to be hell to refit!

Looking at his i'd be inclined to try a carpet layer iron or leave it out in the hot sun for a few hours to soften.

I gave QMCC a ring the other day they said they could do superplush, however it takes abit longer... I might just get it off them, their prices were very reasonable. In your opinion what is the difference between plush and superplush, which would you use, what looks better and why?

its only a recent development that they have the superplush, they dont have any samples thats how recent this is.

I keep asking if there any updates with products...so yeah, first i heard about it

Apparently can do all colours, what did they quote you on f/r in superplush

The only diff between super plush and plush is the height of the pile, thats it.

It came in the calais and i beleive sle commodores, i mean i think it looks rediculous on door trims, we have it on our calais door trims..its like 3/4 inch height.

On the floor its probably good, but honestly its personal preference, it most likely be harder clean...loops the easiest and longest wearing carpet

just my personal preference but i beleive the carpet like mercedes carpet is best looking, its short, like plush but really thick

each to there own, im keen on knowing what they quoted you for the super plush f/r

plush is heaps easier to vacume than loop.

i use the merc style car in some of my customer cars, but you have to cut and sew it,and its costs a fortune :spit:

Personal choice obviously but I have Plush pile in my LX now and I will be getting loop pile when it needs changing and from now on for any relacement sets I buy - I definately prefer the loop pile and it is cheaper as well.

I had a super plush kit from Tru-fit. Although it fitted poorly, it still done the job.
But the 9 week wait was a killer.

I've also used Knox & reviva carpet sets. Both ok.

The set i have in now is from QLD MCC.
The fit was excellent. It doesn't matter how long the carpet is left for, it will fit.
QMCC were very helpfull to me. I asked for a boot carpet also; without the spare wheel recess as i now have a flat floor; no problem & more importantly NO EXTRA CHARGE! 2 weeks from order to delivery.
I will use them again & i cant praise them enough! Thanks QMCC.

As for installation, all i do is throw the carpet on the floor, wind up all the windows, & leave the car in the sun for a day!
Then starting at the trans tunnel, poke a screwdriver thru the seatbelt holes, dont remove the screwdriver.
Lift the carpet, put a block of wood under & use a hole punch [wad punch] to put the holes in. Screw the bolts in to hold the carpet in place, then do the same with the seat bolt holes. The carpet wont move!
Start to finish takes about 2 hrs. Easy.

you waited 9 weeks?why? i have never waited longer than 3 days,or i go elsewhere. (i order carpet weekly)

and you are fitting it the hard way. :tease: screw all the seat bolts into the floor, fit the carpet and then cut around the bolt heads. :spoton:

I believe it took 9 weeks because i ordered 'plush' carpet which was relatively new,
& i ordered 'grey' which was just not on the shelf. I was told it had to be made specifically & would only be done when they were making the next batch of torana carpets.
I might be fitting them wrong, but i've never had a stray cut.
Seen heaps of them though! :D

Hi all, I ordered a set of loop from local Perth place &
went to fit but buggered if it would. The wells were too
wide for the floorpan. They reckoned I was doing something
wrong so came back with theirs & the plush that came out.
Laid down on top you could see it wasnt right. After a bit
of arguing they took me out & showed me the moulds & when
they tried to fit it to their LJ mould- too big. So I saw the LH
mould & threw it on, Hey presto it fits. DOHHHHHHH!!!!
It was their mistake, sales docket said LJ, & did me a LJ set
while I waited no dramas but it was a long wait.
COMUNICATION BREAKDOWN.
