I used konx auto carpets in my UC Hatch and was really pleased with the product. It fitted really well, even around the gearbox tunnel, the join runs underneath the front seats and is hardly noticeable. Only required minor trimming in a few spots (mostly under the sill plates). The carpet is really good quality, i used super plush pile and it came up a treat. Very happy with Knox auto carpets.

hey guys,i'm a motor trimmer and i suggest that you use knox. i use them all the time and have never had a problem.

also just a quick note,if your carpet sits up a little off the floor, dont worry to much as the heat from your extractors will soon mould it to the floor nicely :D

I used Tru Fit in my firt LX, and i have to say how disappointed in the product i was.

The carpet was lumpy, did not fit properly, frayed easily, and im my opinion was extremely poor quality. I also got 2 kick panels from them that i wasnt impressed with.

For my current car ill be looking elsewhere, may look at some of the other options mentioned in this thread.

I got some moulded carpet many years plush pile and it is great.

There were two pieces front and back, the front section had the vinyl foot pad for the section underneath the brake/clutch/accelerator.

I only had to remove the lower back seat, centre console, kick panels and the scuff plates under the doors.

The front seats were untouched, I think the carpet had slits for the seat rails and just slipped into place.

I had them sent up from Melbourne and bought them from a Street Machine ad, I think it may have been Reviva moulded carpets.

Just out of curiosity, what type of Pile was used from factory?

Need to order some carpet, am going to go Knox's.

Loop pile has the best wear quality, but harder to vacuum.

After many messages to tru fit saying i was having probs with install with no reply to help I resorted to the threat of how many people were watching my thread re this carpet, but that never got a reply either.

I used SuperTrim in Rooks Rd Nunawading.
(from what i have heard, they get theirs done by Knox, only what i have heard)

The only problem i had was the tunnel, nothing i did seemed to fix the loosness over the tunnel.

If i pulled the carpet down, it made the floor pan area's sit funny

Finished up cutting down the middle (Only under the console) and pulled it up a little and the finish is good in the floor pans and over the exposed tunnel.

Finished it off by making the cut/overlap super hot and soft and pressed it back to it's self, hasn't moved and looks good.

P.S. used original underfelt.

There are two jobs i absolute hate doing on cars.
Carpets and exhaust systems.
Thinking back, the carpet was the tru fit (tru fit, my arse you wankers).
Thanks to this thread i'll will buy knox. I love the knowledge here.

Trufit I bought for the '73 Galant didn' fit the front very well at all, and wore very quickly for a car that wasn't used much. I love the knowledge here too, I've been putting off doing carpet in 3 cars, now I know were to go.
