LOL I feel sorry for the poor bugger who bought that spoiler!! Even my girlfriend could pick the problem with it.

I've had over 60 transactions on ebay over the last 3 years. Only one problem and it was paritally my fault. I bidded on something then the next day the company I was working for went into liquidation and sacked 60 people (myself included). I was not expecting that, I knew the company had problems but I wasn't expecting that. So since I didn't know where my next paycheck was coming from I decided that it would be highly neglegent to spend $800 on car parts when I was now out of a job. I can totally understand as it sounds like a total bullshit of a story but its for real. The guy on the phone threatened to come to my house (read my address back to me) if I didn't pay him by the friday and "sort me out". I left him neg feedback saying "maniac, don't deal with" and he rung me back threatening to kill me if I didn't remove it.

Nice bloke :spoton: bit of a worry considering he only lived 2 suburbs away. Luckily he wasn't as thick as he sounded and didn't show.

Wow thats crazy!

I think as long as you communicate with the person, it should be okay - most ppl are reasonable if you cant go throught with a sale.

Just the sheer number off people using ebay now, means the chances of running into a dodgey seller/buyer is greater....

Its just a shame that the few bad experiences you have tend to be what you remember, not all the trouble free ones...

Yeh I had plenty of communication with him, but I was telling him what he didn't want to hear. I was trying to be decent about it, but he was just a dodgy criminal hard c*nt tosser.

Whats been pissing me off about ebay lately is the number of items I've been bidding on that have been pulled from ebay 2 days before the auction ends because some jerk has made them an offer. I keep missing out on stuff which I'm willing to outbid everyone for.

is it possible to report sellers ending their auction early? Its pretty obvious when someone has asked 'do you have a buy it now price' in the questions.

Its all these dishonest sellers that makes it hard for people like me to sell good products honestly on Ebay..

These kinds of people will say everything under the sun to sell a product when the honest ones are just breaking even...

EBAY, love it or hate.
Without it the parts that are now available would only ever appear at swap meets or very rarely thru the trading post.

I suppose my take on Torana parts on eBay, is that when I started there were very few items, maybe 1 or 2 pages, now its 13 pages.

Today some of these people are buying up all the half decent cars out there and stripping them to sell the good bits on eBay.

Slowly but surely their are fewer and fewer cars, the prices will get worse, we the genuine enthusiast will be bidding against each other filling the pockets the of the sharks.

This doesn't include genuine people who buy a car to keep their pride and joy on the road then sell the remains to get a few bob back, but is definitely against the people who are buying, stripping and selling good cars purely for the profit.

I wouldn't be surprised if some cars are even stolen to feed this cycle.

Yes, their are a lot of parts available on eBay and I am guilty of buying some.
At least at the swap meet's you saw and discussed directly with the seller and had the item in your hand their and then, good or bad price.

Last whinge, have you noticed, every part is from a genuine GTR/XU1, SLR/5000 or A9X?
Nobody is selling SL parts????

I have been selling & buying bits on Ebay for five years now (as part of my business). I am finding that every month i am getting two-three people that wont even contact me after winning a item. It is not worth leaving bad feedback, as the b#$%rd's give you a negitive for the hell of it. I just block them from bidding on any more of my items. To be honest, if it wasn't for Ebay, i would not be viable to keep my doors open. I have sold parts to quite a few people from the forum, hopefully everyone was happy with their purchase. It pays to look at feedback, and ask for more info or pictures if needed. Most of the bargains are long gone, but i found around Christmas you can score some good bits cheaper. I have even bought some parts for my pinball machine from America, they arrived before i had even paid for them, he was a very nice person to deal with.
My username on Ebay is Tworana, if any forum member needs more info on the stuff i'm selling, just ask & mention the forum.

I agree, ebay is frought with problems esp the way the feedback works. It's very wrong that we dare not leave dickheads bad feedback because they will affect the rating of a genuine and decent seller.

I don't know what the answer ius but then again I have not given it much thought, ebay takes little notice of sellers and seemingly even less of scam artists and serial pests out to destroy the good names of others.

Cheers

but i found around Christmas you can score some good bits cheaper.

I learnt my lesson with that! I sold a whole pile of stuff just after xmas last year and got burnt. I let a set of rare highly pollished 14x8 torana stud pattern rims with flares offset with 265s and 245s go for like $200. I was devistated. Not enough buyers online at the time. I sold heaps of stuff and lost out on most of it. But for me it was a good time to sell because i had time to clean out my shed and take photos and I needed the money due to being a contracter and not getting purkes like holiday pay.

I sure as hell wont sell anything at xmas ever again but I'll be sure to be browsing!

ive only ever had one dud on ebay with someone buying a 350 holley off me with a big ol' 0 next to their name, so i gave them the benefit of the doubt and didnt block his bidding... and never heard from him again <_<
Buying for the kids has always been great, especially at xmas when sellers were sending stuff so it was here for xmas and they hadnt even received their money!

I sold a lot of LC stuff over xmas, and got really good prices, well compared to what things usually went for, but now after xmas the prices have really rocketed up, so what i thought was a good price, well now things are getting double!

Im happy though, had the money when i needed it.
