hey i know this is a long shot but my mate has an ex chaser and cant find a description for the "M" in the vin. the letter is where the description of the motor is supposed to be. it doesnt correspond to the regular letters for a v6, v8 5l or the 5.7l...... does anyone have any idea or have the same on their vin???? any help would be great. cheers....Tod

"M" is a 5 litre EFI in a VT Series 1, the Series 2 had the Gen 3.
You may have the wrong character so post up the front of the VIN.
