give phil at final drive a call machine. He did myne a few years back and he was reasonable.
Myne was a few k in total for my LX. A rebuild, good LOKKA centre, tailshaft mods, new bushes, brake lines, rato change if you want and boxing ya trailing arms etc.

I installed it myself.

Evan.

Where are you?
I got mine shortened and built for $1650 at Mobidiffs in Slacks Ck, Brisbane.
I supplied VP diff, LSD centre, gears, swaybar and original Banjo housing (for mounts), he shortened it, rebuilt the LSD, assembled everything with new bearings and seals, restudded the (shortened) axles in Tory pattern and redrilled the stud pattern in the discs. I organised the brakes, h/brake cables, brake lines and tailshaft. And I fitted it myself.

i have a vl turbo diff i was planning on using in lc, is there a reason that the axles have to be redrilled to suit torry pattern, i wanted to use the disc brakes on the commy.

Depends on what wheels you want to run, Commodore ones are unlikely to be available in a suitable offset for Torana - unless you build the diff width to suit, but then what about matching fronts?

Are commodore offset wheels more positive or negative than torana?
That is, If I put the commodore diff straight in... which is obviously wider than lc/lj banjo but then ran commodore wheels would I be okay or would they sit too far out?

Commodore wheels have more positive offset. The standard diff width would still be way too wide for the Torana though.
