Hey People.

Spent the last 6 months ironing bugs out of the old girl and now the time has come. Just off for a play on a test and tune, then I will run super street next year.

So I'm after some educated guesses. What time do you think it will run, closest to the mark I will buy you a mars bar. Here is the specs-

LX 4 door, full street trim.
342bhp
Traction not good in 1st on the street (actually there isn't any)
9 inch with full spool and 3.5:1
245/50/15 rear street tyres
turbo 350 with 4000rpm stall

You're not going to get to use that stall with those tyres!

Yeah I know. Ordering a set of slicks in the new year, just out for a play first see how it feels at speed. See what it crosses the line at, have 4.11's sitting on the garage floor to throw in too.

Hey Waz
Geez, 342rwhp, a 4000rpm stall and normal street tyres - it could be a wild ride, might still be fun though :driving:
You could be looking at 11's with decent grip (MT ET Street Radials would be fine), but high 12's or even 13's with everyday 245's.

Cheers

Yeah I hope to run a mid 11 or better with different gearing and a set of slicks or street radials - haven't decided on tyres yet.

Have punched numbers into heaps of different 1/4 mile calcs, but the times range from 10.5 to 12. SO I thought I would ask you guys?

Just see what happens, I think a mid 13, but who knows on the day, depends on your reaction.

I will. Going Wednesday with a spare pair of undies. Haven't had the car over 100kmh on the road so it should be interesting.

Would like to run quicker than that though.

Reaction time doesn't come into it, which is a good thing. Your E.T. starts when you leave the line.

As long as you have fun, it's all good. I dare say you'll see 170kph+ through the traps. :spoton:

My official bid for that Mars Bar is 13.2 :D

Cheers

That may give you a idea of what yours should do :spoton:

I reckon you could "run" down there in about 45 seconds! LOL

In your car, i reckon first time out you will get low 12's and if you can get good traction into the 11's!!

Eitherway, i reckno you will have an absolute BLAST!

Sounds like a wicked engine Waz, so good luck regardless of what times it runs, you will have a ball. I know I used to.

Hey waz, how'd you go last night mate?

I managed to get up to Willowbank Raceway (more like willowbank WAIT-way last night ), only got to see your last run cos i ended up having a run too !

Your car sounds very sweeet i must say, and your paint looked cool under lights.

Anyway, pretty sure the one run i saw you do was a 12.8 @ 113MPH ??

Keen to find out your other times, as i need to know if i should purchase a Pepsi Max to be having with my mars bar ! :D

LOL

You will need that Pepsi max. I hate the paint, the commentators even put shit on it called it the christmas ball.

Yeah that was the last run 12.8 at 113

Best run was a 12.50 at 105. For some strange reason I backed off before the line, hence the low mph. The way it is I think I could pull a low 12 if I got everything just right.

Also ran a 13.9 after getting a bit smoke happy on the burnout and just had absolutely no traction in first and half way through 2nd.

I had really bad traction problems on all the runs and transmission is slipping into 3rd.

Fix the transmission, set off slicks and change the diff gears to 4.11's and will back out early next year. Should run a mid 11 when all is sorted. Can't wait, had an absolute ball. Even a mid 12 gets the blood pumping.

How would you like to collect your prize?

Yeah that was the last run 12.8 at 113

What was your 60ft time for this run ?

How would you like to collect your prize?

Are you going out to munchies this Friday (19th) by any chance??? :D

Yeah I do have some pics I will post them tonight. Its not that bad in the day, but under lights its like a disco ball. Just watched the video of the first run again and heard them say the car looks like it just came straight out of a strip club and looks like a star spangled banner.

60ft time on that run was 2.5, but on the first run it was 2.0.

No I don't think I will go, but I might meet up with you at aspley.

Hopefully next year it gets a colour change. The sad part is its actually a really good paint job its just full of metal flake. It could be used as a float for the mardi gras.
