G'day all,
I have been playing with the alignment of my panels recently and I am now up to the hatch door. It looks like the panel needs to slide about 1mm closer to the roof of the car but I have loosened off the bolts that hold the hatch to the hinges and it is already adjusted all the way.
Do the hatches use shims between the body and the hinges to adjust this further?
I don't want to unbolt the thing for no gain.

Hi Toranamat69, I'm doing the same thing.
Mine has shim on drivers side only.
I recently replaced a broken hinge, but now the bloody
alignment is all over the joint.
Of course I cleaned the area up so now I dont even have
the surface rust or dirt to mark out where they are supposed to be!!
Dooooh!!
For the life of me I have tried sliding this way and that,
getting someone to push the hatch one way while I tighten the bolts,
but no joy.
If you or any one else has any advice I would pay a $2000 reward.
Actually, if I had $2000 I would probably get someone else to do it!!! LOL
Any help would be appreciated.

Make a panel beater your friend!
Over many years I have seen people struggle with aligning doors, bonnets and now hatch lids etc. It is almost a black art. Watch a good panel beater go to work on them and you will be amazed at how quickly they accomplish this task. He will do in minutes what you have been struggling with for days (and you still don't have it right)
