Started up, no noises. Revved it, no noises??? Huh???
Took it for a drive, flogged the crap out of it, no noises. Idled for 20 minutes, no noises. Huh???
Was making a shocking racket the other day so not sure whats going on. After discussing it with the mechanic behind my brothers work we think it may be the oil control flap assembly in the sump that's loose???
Anyway, changed the oil and filter and its going to the drags tonight for some further testing
The oil came out clean and was run through a stocking filter and there was no crap in it at all. The noise was definitely there and in the bottom of the engine.
Maybe another $150.00 to spend on a transporter after tonight

Not a great night for my car, first run pretty average, second run I gave it a good rev and the dreaded noise is back. Went home early and will investigate it over the next week.
Not a great night for me really, car laid down a bit of oil on the two runs and stopped the whole event while it was cleaned up.
Turned out it was leaking oil from the rear sideplate which I recently changed the gasket on and didn't tighten it up enough. Thanks to Wayne for pointing that out No thanks to me for doing half a job..........
Here's videos of my two runs, in the first one you will see Mitch's burnout and launch but the sound of his car is 'slightly' overshadowed by the Fraud in the next lane. I ran a crap 15.003 sec run, well below what the car can do.
Run 1
Second run was better for me, turned off the rev limiter and gave it a good spin towards 7000rpm. Got off the line better too and ran a 14.5 second pass against Mitch who finished not too far back in his V6 powered car.
Run 2
Again, great to meet lots of guys and particular credit to those who take show quality cars out and use them properly.

I ran a PB of 15.481 @ 86.96 mph which I am stoked with!
Big thanks to Tiny for setting up the lane, and a big thanks to everyone who turned up for this event. We had no pull outs coming up to the event which was great, though it was unfortunate Craig had to pack it up early. The amount of Toranas that turned up was fantastic, and although I dont think I raced a single car which was even close to my car, it was a great night and great to meet so many new faces.
I cant wait for the next event. I might be heading out in a few weeks again with Chris and Rob (VY SS and VR SS), so will post up any details of that event as well.
Thanks everyone for showing up, and I cant wait to see some pics and videos of the night as well as some times!

Rob ran a best of 14.7. Unsure of mph though.
I work with Chris, and it was the first time iv met Rob. Rob said his bosses brothers Torana was there as well though not with us. He was in a purple LX with a big blower stickin out the bonnet.
