Anyone know the difference between the HR and Torana stub axles, or does anyone have some HR stub axles in Brissy that I can have a look at to compare them to my Torana ones?

I thought they were the same...but I have never sat one next to the other.

Apart from the difference in SAI, the drum brake stubs are the same. Not sure about the disc brake calipers, as the calipers may not interchange. Physically the stubs can be interchanged, as one of my mates put LH disc brakes on the front of his HR about 15 years ago.

the HR stubs have the same king pin angle as HQ, so you will get the same problem with them which you'd get it for put HQ brakes on the torry .... this is for the disc stubs by the way

HR stubs are also same ride height as torry, whereas the HQ sits the car approx 1 inch lower.

ThanX mate, that is the exact info I was looking for.

I am after the HQ KPI with the Torana ride height.

Brakes doesn't matter as I am getting the CRS 2" drop spindles.

what problem do you get running the hq stubs??? if you use torana steering arm, then steering geometry would be the same? (bump steer)

i had q stubs/brakes on my first torana (actually hz). but as i was only 18, i had no idea about what effects it had on handling/steering etc.

is the calliper mounting pcd the same between q and torana? (will torana brakes bolt onto the q stubs)

If you want HQ stubs on an LH/LX, you need $297 for the Harrop steering arms to reduce bump steer back to an acceptable level. Torana calipers won't bolt up to HQ stubs.
