Verdoro Green LC GTR

Hi There,

Just bought an LC GTR , If I read the tags correctly (See info below)
it should be Verdoro green metalic with antique gold interior.

I am presently dismantling for a ground up rebuild up

Although I don't mind the idea of the green metalic not sure about the gold interior.

Would anyone have any pictures of a Verdoro green GTR ?? or better still one
with the gold interior??

Although I am thinking keep the original color I am tempted to go "Sandlewood"
on the interior.

Any comments greatly appreciated.

Hi,I dont have any pics but verdorro green metallic is an excellent colour. I have a unrestored gtr with the same colour. Its a dark metallic green with i think a hint of gold thru it. Gold trim looks really classy, my brother had a new lc gtr which was monaco maroon metallic with gold trim. Your very lucky there's not enough of those type of trims around. Kev

It's hard to know what it could look like in restored original condition as someone
repainted it(very badly) in blue. I was able to chip off some blue and find some
green that was still able to be polished up .But the interior has been changed to
black so I had no idea what it could look like..

Any chance of a picture of your Verdoro GTR , would be great to see it.

this is a pic of my brothers LC GTR he had
in the early eighties, from memory i think it
was Lakeside green.

this lakeside green gtr was it black or sandelwood trim? Are they WA rego plate on the lc gtr?

it had black trim, the car was in Sydney, it had
a 186S engine in it, and an Opel box(which blew
up about a month after he got it, replaced with
an M20). It was sold complete but dismantled
mid eighties. Wish he still had it, seems like a
rare colour

a quick question. How will you 'go sandelwood' if you decide to? Retrim or respray? My torrie is sandelwood, but, it has been resprayed. I'm in the process of removing the vinyl paint from my trim to expose the orig vinl.

I am doing a ground up restore so I was going to get all new
trim. Most of my trim has also been changed to black either by swapping
things or yes painted with vinyl paint.

Still trying to find out more about what the gold trim looks like before
I decide.

Question ?? to the group : Just how rare is the Verdoro green with gold trim
combination on an LC GTR.

I know it was very common on the HT Monaro.

Hi Verdoro, The Verdorro green shell i have at home still has the original colour on the inside of the doors (the rest is painted white!), so if you send me your email i'll send you pic. Kev

mate i reckon just go the gold, its obviously unique, ive never seen one before, and id say most here havent either. of course if its original colour, itll increase the value also.

You and me both, so far no good locating any pictures of
even a HT monaro with the gold trim ,let alone an LC GTR !

I am however waiting on some samples of the antique gold material from
Dash Original (S.A)

Should be interesting....

i have gold gtr pics, can't find. Ring Reg, the trimmer in Qld. He owned a bronze gtr with gold trim. He's the man who will tell you all you what to know

Had a mate come past today with a mint HT GTS in bronze with
the gold trim.
It has only done 50000 original miles!
Its a real nice combination those colours.

Would love to see an LC GTR that colour combo.

Hi people I have a double page mag picture of a verdoro green lc gtr with Gold stripes but it has custom interior not the gold.
did this colour and blackwatch green have gold side stripes as original it would make sense as it would match the interior. so anyone no!

I thought it may be like the bathurst Hg monaro that was green with the gold stripe

unfortunaly i have no way of putting this pic up so can i send it to someone to post, someone that will return it to me once its done.

Hi blkwatch,

Thanks for the post, first of all from what I have found out sofar the Verdoro green
GTR's did indeed come with a Persian Gold stripe. (Same gold used on the HT Monaro)

Secondly , it would be greatly appreciated if you do find a way to post /send a scan of the Verdoro green example in your magazine. Although I am very keen to go original where possible it would be very reassuring to see what the colour will look like on my car.

have a friend of my son who is going to scan the pic for me when he does i will send you a copy,
glad to hear that they have gold stripes have asked before but no one was really sure was told they all came with black

I can tell you the verdoro green with the gold stripe looks lovelly wish i had a pic of a blackwatch green but dont care how it looks will go orig anyway

Was that the one that was an ex cop car with dragways on it?There was a vedoro green lc gtr I tried to buy a few years back,I gave the owner my number only to find out he sold it cheap to a relo who ran it into the ground in a short time.
