There's about 4 LH/X at this yard, 6 UC sedans, 1 UC hatchback (sunbird), 1 HB torana, 2 half cut (LH/X) and 1 LX hatch back (apparently a SS)

Posted Image

This is the car they tell is a SS. It's been painted red over a darkish blue. The guy has the plates, but I do have the chassis number ALX006429M.

I didn't want to take too many pictures in case I got caught. I wasn't sure if I could, but I didn't want to ask either.

Let me know if you need something in particular cause I often visit this yard. It's better than bunnings. Prices are good too. I picked up a UC sports dash for $20 and bumper bar over riders at $10 each.

I thought I'd post this up as good parts are getting harder to find nowdays...

I have 2 spare doors and hatch already. These doors are really rusted out along with the hatch. In fact the whole car is bad...

Ahhh ok then... Does it still have the fiddly little hatchback parts? Like the rear trims etc etc

No, but the UC hatch is un-touched and it's not in the yard. It has ll the fiddly bits.

WITH no tags and the car gutted it's hard to tell if it's an SS as the shell is no different to an SL. Any trim left in it?

The reason I don't post the number is I don't want to upset the deal I have going with this wrecker. At the moment he allows me to wonder around the yard. Unheard of now days with all the regulations in place.

Yes that is a gemini coupe. There's all sorts of goodies here. I did see a ford capri. Absolute basket case though. Worst car that I have ever seen for rust. The is also a 240 datsun coupe, again full of rust. What else.. A hand full of BMC cars, some mini's, jags and some really weird cars.

I did spot a mint 1975/6 lancer. My first car that I drove was a 1973 lancer. Awesome little car.

a bit secret squirrel isnt it^ someone is trying to make a profit!

You have got me all wrong. Yes, I'm a shit stirrer and part of me is enjoy the secret location. Like I said it's more to keep things good between as. I'm going back today to sort out parts for other members with no intention to make a profit.

If I was after a rare part and someone could help me, I'd would like them to. That's the way I see it.

I'm tossing up whether or not to buy the SS as it is a basket case. I wouldn't want to cut out the chassis number and swap with a good LX hatch back as that would be against all my principles.

I need to get all the numbers on this car to decide what it is worth and is it worth me buying. Something like restoring this SS would run into at least $25-30,000 at a guess.

If need something let me know and I'll get a price. I also live near a courier or I can drop off parts to your desired courier.

That would depend on if it was a 6cyl or V8 for a start.

^^^^That's not what I meant.^^^^^
I just think it is a bit unreasonable to make this thread then hold his cards to his chest, unless he owns the wrecking yard, which obviously he doesn't.

if i was on a good wicket with the local wreckers (which i am) i'd be doing the same thing.

if it really bothers you, find his location, which it says wollongong, then have a look in the yellow pages for wreckers and do a ring around.

not that hard is it?
