I'm pretty sure that all SS dashes were silver.

G'day guys,

Portland grey is a dulux paint colour that closely resembles the actual dash colour even those they weren't actually painted.

If you dont have an original dash (or cant afford the $9000 odd as per a recent ebay sale) have a look at these guys.

http://www.dashoriginal.com.au/

Jugding by previous posts they do excellent work but do cost a bit and take ages to do the work but well worth the wait.

Thanks for the help i thought they were all silver i just couldn't quite remember just one last question was the dash bit thats silver is it flat or have a grain. if any one has any pics of close up that would help alot.

Iam going to do the dash myself as why pay some one else to do what i can do i just sorta need to see one already done so i know excatly what its ment to look like and does any one have the paint code for the silver. if theres any one around the Kyabram Victoria area that has a silver dash any chance i could have a quick look if possible thanks for all your help

mate the dash is "grey", the outer line is silver, inside the screw holes are black along with surround of the slots for the fan control.this is from memory.i have some stencils here to airbrush the controls on if you want.not sure but i think when you open the ash tray its black there too.i will try to get a photot of mine as it appears to be original and uncut.i would have to unpack it first so i will wait till see if anyone else has photos.

Can someone with a silver dash post a pic of the section where the radio mounts?

I learnt something about silver dashes (maybe it was common knowledge??) that may help us all out....the silver bit (at least on the lower cap) is an insert..stuck over the textured black plastic....once I peel it off i can post a pic for those that are interested...it should then be very easy to get the silver inserts cut and then you could glue them onto any dash.

in fact that sort of answers a question i didnt ask.

I would assume hatch ones should be like the one pictured above but an SLR silver dash may but cut for a radio?

RADIOS WERE fitted in the four door SLR's in the LX range, LH you had to ask for it. Hatches as we know had it in consoles
