The best Historic meeting of the year is being run at the best track next weekend.

There will be about 10 Toranas running in Group C - mostly A9Xs - both 2 and 4 doors, with a 73 Bathurst XU1 and a L34 or 2 running as well. Group C qualifying is on Friday at 4.30 and we have 2 races on each day of the weekend - 1 race each day at around 11 to 12 and another race each day at between 4 and 5 in the afternoon.

Also the L34 road cars will have a display in the spectator area

The F5000s are racing. If you haven't seen these cars you're missing something special. 500hp+ V8s in cars that way around 800kgs, with 15 inch WIDE rear tyres and they are about half the height of a Torana (except for the air scoop). They look, sound and go like real race cars.

If you haven't been to Philip Island you don't know what you're missing - I could live there if it wasn't for AFL being the only thing the Mexicans talk about. The track is fantastic to watch racing on and to race on and you can walk around the pits and see the cars close up, the setting right on the ocean is perfect, and there is a kart track next door that is a scaled down version of the race track - something to do if you get bored!

Last time I went I loved it!

Hi guy's
Believe it or not i live and have lived in Melb all my life and i have never been to any recing at PI
I have decided to rectify this and am coming down on Sat with the Hatch to give it another long run.
Will make my way to yellows garage when i'm their to meet a few new faces.
Seems to be garage 56 will be the most obvious meeting point, see you all their.

Any chance they will actually penalise a certain car out there that seems to be able to win every time.....?

when ONE A9X can keep up with and pass cars like a Nissan Skyline with Glen Seton driving, or start 2 rows back from the rear row at Phillip Island and still manage to drive past everyone else you know somethings not right.

3 months holiday after a Bathurst meet...Never seen a 69 Camaro do 298kph before...that was all hush hush...no publicity at all..think the Biante organisers wanted that one squashed. And we have ALL seen the powerslide at P.I. in 3rd gear in the A9X 2 door....Please!!!!...I am not a fan of win at ANY cost...

i was at bathurst in 2006 crewing with the biante steve mason 69 camaro (biante winner in 2007) and opposite us in the pits was the the Paul stubber 69 camaro as soon it fired up my mate Ned sassine (Steve masons engine builder) solo Hercules competition said to me that's not a 350 engine..as soon as i walked over to have sticky beak down went the bonnet and the roller door...that year at bathurst stubbers car was clocked from memory at 295ks not bad for a tin top,...one thing i will say that Paul stubber is one hell of a racing driver...funny thing was in 2007 no Paul stubber 69 camaro could never quite work that one out...i wonder
