Hi,

im thinking about getting some tripple su's

but they need rekitting.

will i be able to rekit them myself? or should professionals do this?

also how much do kits cost, or how much would it cost to professionaly get all 3 rekitted.

Thanx,
nathan

I priced some kits at $30 ea...to get three kitted by a pro my guess would be $250-300

I'm sure they are a simple carby to kit but it the things like knowing the needle sizes and knowing if all three are matched is where a pro would know their stuff.

Look for worn throttle shafts. Could double the rebuild price.

If you get some that need rebushing let me know.
I will give you a price for doing them.

What do you look for to identify worn throttle shafts? is it something you have measure once dissasembled? what is the required clearance between throttle shaft and carb body?

Any help would be appreciated.

Where the cable or linkage attaches (usually the r/h side of a CD stromy or SU looking down its throat from air cleaner side) open the throttle to about 1/4 of it's travel and see if you can wiggle the shaft up and down. A very good one would have virtually no play. A worn out one would have about 1mm up and down. Your decision now, what is good and what is bad. The more play the more harder to adjust idle and keep in tune as air passing the shaft alters mixture for the particular carb.

Clearance would be around .001-.002" I would think but that is getting technical.
