Hey Guys, Im helping a mate build a motor (red 202), Just wondering what rods to run? Can I use blue motor rods? Where do I buy new rods and what sort of price are we looking at?

Found these Starfire Rods on Ebay Would these be ok to use, What are they worth?

Use them, they will be fine unless you want to hit 7000 RPM.

And if you plan on a big rev then there are Argo, BMW or Carrillo rods around for Holden 6's.

damn ay, 182$ for starfire rods :huh: . i sold some on ebay for $96 couldnt belive wat people pay for them!
just wreck a blue/black engine for them. im sure u wont need stronger, unless ur engine is just insane.

I've got a set of 202 rods on ebay a the moment. They reved to 6500 when i had them in my solid setup no probs. Alot cheaper the starfire ones.

Just buy a Blue 202. That way you get the better crank and rods.

I think i will just find some blue 202 rods for him, they should be fine I reckon.

NZ XU1 - What sort of price range we the custom rods?

Not cheap , around $1700 for the set .

well maybe not this motor but the next motor I build I want it to be bullet proof or as close to asit can be. I reckon they would be worth it though if your building a very high compression motor to rev.

Thanks for the help guys, Im just gunna whack some blus motor rods in it as they will be enough for what he wants.
