very nice LX chev, had a BA XR6 ute, one of the best cars Ive ever owned, absolutely loved everything about it, sold it to Cooper Cronk who plays for the Melbourne storm. Had no idea whatsover who he was when he came to look at the car. Looked like a fit young fella, friendly bloke, but his manager was an @sshole to deal with. Now im driving an FG XR6 turbo, goes like stink, and the fastest car ive ever driven. Forget the XR8,s get a turbo!!!!!

my daily driver is a bench seat column auto eb falcon.does great up the highway.when going the coast last week,i was past by some e-series drvers club which is aparently = to this forum.at first they gave me the thumbs up and they all slowed down, let me pass them and then gave me the finger as they went by.i can only assume that it was because of this.

i was always told to buy a ford for comfort and a holden for reliability.mine has 147000 on the clock and has no issues so i get reliable as well as comfort.the commodore rides like an old hilux and can here road noise and everything.im not actualyy any sort of die hard fan just love the torana.its what suits me at the time and unfortunately the lj is not an option to drive up and down the coast twice a week, especially with triple webers.fuel isnt cheap here.

Yeah well I love Toranas but I wouldn't consider myself a 'Holden' man.

Daily driver got sold on the weekend, so currently I'm back to my bmx.

I am a biased Holden man, but I do genuinely feel that fords are uncomfortable to sit in.

The floor (to me) seems to be a lot closer to the seating position than I am happy with, but I have some health issues that contribute to this. Also feel the steering wheel is closer to the seat (height wise) and have trouble throwing my legs in under it when I get in and out of them. Not just some models either, 4 or 5 of them that I have tried/driven.

Oh, BTW this is my daily .... Even tho I walk to work most days, LOL.

I agree with you Pallbag, my EA is a prick of a thing to get into/out of, the steering wheel is way too close to the seat.

Looking for a VT/VX Wag now, if anyone knows of any :D

I love my toranas, and have owned three in my short life of nearly 40 years. My wife loves the Toranas too, we will never be without one, they hold dear memories for both of us and they will always be a part of our family. Yet I drive a Ford (fraud??? never will understand that) i also love my FG XR6 turbo. I have never owned a better car, and ive owned BMW,S. Ive worked in the automotive industry for nigh 20 years now, for Holden, Toyota and currently for Ford. All of these manufacturers deliver world class products though none better than the Aussie designed Commedore and especially the Ford FG. This is the best car produced in Australia at this moment. The falcon was always the choice of the taxi companies for a reason, and that was that it lasted roughly 25% longer on the durability track. This gap between commedore/ falcon may have shortened somewhat since the release of the latest all Oz designed model, but previously this was an a large factor in choice for high mileage vehicles.
As a footnote, in clinics where customers were tested for comfort between long wheel base commerdore/falcon platforms, most people tended to sway towards the falcon as it had a longer rear back seat cushion than the commedore. This tends to support under the thigh better and feels more comfortable. Try it and see.
