Bought these wheels off John (tuffgong, now bathurst32D) as per this thread-

original price check thread

Stuffed John around a bit with my money troubles, but managed to get the cash together and had a friend organised to throw them on the back of his (little) truck on the way home from a run to brissy.

So here they are in the ute, all snug.

Posted Image

Very dirty and I think I'll need atleast 2 tyres as they are pretty feathered around the inners, but other then that the actual wheels are perfect! so im happy!

And just for interests sake, this was my delivery truck of choice!

I just spent half an hour unloading all the truck tyres from the back too (gave my mate a hand)

My suit pants are now filthy, and after unloading 50 truck tyres, and another 13 tyre+rims, im buggered!

But my wheels are here so im more then happy!

pictures of them on the car tomorrow!

They will be going in the back of the shed.

If I ever change my mind, they will be going back on. But im thinking with these I can now update to a bigger brake kit (eventually..... maybe at tax time!)

If they dont look anygood, I will probably either sell them on, or keep them for another project.

I'm looking forward to seeing the new wheels on your car.

IMHO its a great looking LJ sedan but the jelly beans do nothing for it.

I wouldnt say immitation simmons, they are a similar looking wheel, but they are ROH venturos, modular 3 piece wheels, 16x7 with 205 rubber.

Didnt get them on the car last night though, after I walked the dog, went and checked on the cat at my parents house while they are away and finally got home and washed + scrubbed the mud off the tyres there wasnt much time!

BUT

I got two whole wheels cleaned and polished with purple polish (just need a quick one with mirror finish now) took about 45 minutes a wheel to get them nice and clean/shiny.

so this is how they looked when I got them-
Posted Image

and yes, once they were washed and dried (in the freezing cold outside) I dragged them into the lounge room on some rags and put karlie to work on one wheel while I did another. (yes she was happy for me to have my wheels in the lounge room... not to mention cleaning them!)

She has had pretty bad dermo on one of her fingers lately, so she gave one a quick clean up then quickly moved on to playing the X box on the spare TV in the lounge room and I kept polishing!

But anyway,
washed down, dried and inside!
Posted Image

shiny shiny!

How I finished up for the night-
Posted Image

2 on the right are pretty much done, need a quick once over with the top knotch polish.
2 on the left are as they were after being washed and tyres scrubbed. They might get dont tonight, (Ive gotta pick my folks up from newy airport, so maybe not)

But they will be on for cruising on the weekend!

dont worry col, If I had one I would have tried...

it was too much of a drive to get them to mum and Rays to use theirs! haha.

nial8r-

Yeah It was too cold outside and my shed isnt organised enough at the moment to work on them in there! Plus, two and a half men was on and I needed to eat dinner too! haha.

Mick-
I think I would need chrome 20inch wheels with underbody neons and a fake nos bottle to qualify for that mate! I dont even have the subs in the boot anymore! trying to decide If I should put them back in or not, I just dont know what im going to do with the wall I have in the boot if I have nothing to show off behind it!

Looking at throwing 2 new tyres on for the fronts, not sure what to do.

I can get Nangkangs for around $100 a pop (fitted and balanced) if not a bit less,

But im thinking maybe its time to try a decent tyre for a grippier performance.

I know that sumitomo do a decent priced, well performing tyre (about 120 a pop I think)

What rubber do people reccomend without going crazy price wise?? (ie. pirellis)

I would try fitting them first Chris.

Then you can check for clearance.

I got cheap tyres on my Ute, they are Kendo's i think. And they handle and grip fantastic! Not sure if they make a 16" tyre. But might be worth checking out.

Do as col says though. Fit them up first, and see what size may suit you better. Take it for a drive and make sure its not too heavy, or scrubs etc...

HAHA! I hope you had a beer while you were polishing the wheels, eating dinner and watching 2 and a half men! That would have to be almost the best thing to be doing when you get home from work!

Im definitely fitting them before I swap tyres.

I wont be able to afford to replace them for a few weeks anyway!

So they will go on for a cruise this weekend (all being well with fitment)

I figure I can get away with some bald edges on the rear for one day (famous last words?)

They are comming up nice mate. Wish my other half would help wash and polish, but then she would just get in the way.

Looking forward to seeing them on.

Shithouses dont run tyres ... unless it's a Dunnydore.

I have had two sets of Sumitomos on the LJ (205/60R13). Personaly i think they were a better tyre than the Eagers. Pity they don't make them in 13 anymore.
