heya guys
i know this has been covered before but i got myself a supra 5 speed and i have to go back and get the spiggot bush out of block.

i rememberreading sumthing bout putting wet newspaper in the hole and jaming it in there and it will eventually come out, but cant see that being 2 effective, its pretty well stuck in there.

anyone got any other tricks??
if its 2 hard ill just get one made up made up on my mates lathe.
what are they made out of ??

pack it with grease(the hole in the centre), then find a punch or rod that just fits inside the centre hole (needs to be a close fit), you the hit the rod into the grease in the centre (you will need to keep adding grease until you get all the air out) the grease when all the air is out will act like the fluid in a hydrolic ram and forces the bush back out. as it comes out you need to keep adding more grease to fill the space it leaves as it comes out. Also if the rod pushes through the grease and you hear it hitting the back of the crank , then stop and add more grease.

fill the spiggot bush with grease, find a old gearbox input shaft. Put the old shaft in the spiggot bush and hit it. The grease pushes it out, like magic.

Chances are being Jap it will have a ball bearing.
If it does you can't effectively remove it with the grease method as it will destroy the sheild/seal on the bearing. If it is a ball bearing just go to a bearing service. It will be cheap. If it is a bush they are made from sintered bronze which holds lubricants and in is self lubricates.
