When the vent setting is set as highlighted by the red circle in the photo, what vents should be open and which should be closed?

Also if someone could tell me which vents should be open and closed in the other positions that would be great too! :D

Cheers.

As positioned in the photo, air should only come out the centre vent.
Up and down arrows should only see it come from these positions too, though you might get some bleeding out the centre. If you dont want any air coming in at all, you need to put the lever in the middle and close the centre vents.

Aircon models work the same except for that when directed to floor, system allows for a slight stream of air to be directed at screen also. This is a very annoying feature as it makes ones eyes go sore when the heater is used, though it is effective in keeping the screen clear. I use a thin door snake to block off the demister ducts when cruising with the heater on.

Just had a look in the handbook, no air should come from the centre vents when on demist, but will be available when in the floor position. It also claims some bleeding to the demist when in floor position, yet ive only ever noticed this on the ac version.
