Hopefully that'll convert some of the anti-UC Torrie owners here. Absolutely beautiful car mate; you've inspired me.

Very glad you worked out how to put photo's on the forum, what a car. WOW!

The engine bay looks a treat!
The interior is - neat as!
and I just love the dash treatment, prolly the best dash setup I have seen.

I can only wish I was as gifted to be able to do that sort of conversion.

Cheers

Thanks guys, and before anyone asks "why a uc" the answer is because i like to be different! If anyone wants to know anything about efi engine conversions i am your man, i have done that whole car myself apart from the paint! :D

I'll pay that. The thing I don't like about the UC's are the lights, both front and back, but I think the sheer quality and impact of the work over the whole car just outweighs that minor dislike. Great job and effort especially with the engine bay, very neat conversion and it looks awesome.

Welcome on board.

Peace,

Cheers mate, i agree with you on the rear lights that holden could have done something better but i like the uc front sheet metal and actually prefer the uc front over the lh-lx fronts. But each to thier own i guess.

Hey Blown V6Hatch! I saw your car in Build-ups mag too! Very inspirational read! Good to see another UC fan too, we are a rare breed!

You shouldnt have said 'im the man to ask'... I have a question, how hard did you find it to change to commodore brakes/stud pattern??

I've stuck to the old red motor (now painted aluminium) with my UC, but im not far off your strip time, 14.8 for me...

Great work! Do you have any other mods planned for the old girl??

Keith

The brake conversion is too easy. I use CRS disc brake adapter kits on the front, with vn v6 disc & calipers. On the rear i use shortened vn commodore axles in the v8 salisbury with vn commodore disc brakes bolted on. I also use vn commodore master & booster which bolts straight onto the firewall and all that has to be done is shorten the booster rod to the right length for the torana. What is done to your red motor? Hope it is fuel injection because you cant beat fuel injection, IMO.

Future mods?

Vt commodore front brakes
Vt commodore master & booster
Twin throttle body set up
4.2 litre stroker
Cam & head work
3.9 gears & mini spool (building borg warner)

I think that is about it for now.

But before i do any more engine work i am going to do a few little tweaks to the engine and try and get a 13.0 or very high 12 out of it.
See how i go.

Ahhh, this is the car that Peter (yellow UC sedan parked next to you at Geelong, Tim) was telling me about. That is one unreal vehicle. I'll be hanging out to see it in the flesh.

Thanks mate, Looks like your car is going to look neat when it is finished! The color is very similar to blueprint but would you believe it is cyan blue that came out on the HQ holdens. Just better than the factory could do it back in 78.
