Can anyone tell me if you can change the outer gears in a banjo diff so you can use say coarse spline axles in an original fine spline diff ( 3.55 RATIO ) TO A COARSE SPLINE DIFF ( 2.78 RATIO )

Yes, easy. The fine spline ones from the small Salisbury in UC or early Commodores interchange too. You are best off sticking with fine spline axles if you can though.
