The 4 door 3rd from the bottom is how I remember it. My Overlander tonner was that colour originally. It's a bit like Papaya in that it looks very different in bright sunlight than it does in shade hence the big apparant variations.

They are all right, different lighting will affect the hue, that is the type of colour it is.

Exactly, you really need to see this color with your own eyes.
Looks purple in some shots.

Last one, and rear in crowded street are exactly how I've seen it.

But different light conditions will always make it look different - it isn't necessarily the camera playing up - even my colour can look hugely different (normally grey/pale) in poor lighting, but in perfect lighting, it glows.

Ultrablue is a bloody nice colour; i don't think you'll regret it!

Yes, these photo's are a good representation of the colour. It does change alot with light conditions, but in general the photo's supplied are great! Chrome bumpers make the colour stand out more than a car with colour coded bumpers, colour of wheels also makes a big difference! When I first applied the paint on my old Ultra blue SS I thought, "oh shit what have I done", but once car had black applied, chrome bumpers and gold centred simmons wheels it was a real knock out. Go for it, great colour.

Would probably have to be my favourite Torana colour. All photos above represent the colour well.

Might sound like a silly suggestion, but, it could be a good reason to pop in to your local model shop - I reckon Biante got the colour right.
I don't think this pic is quite spot on (colour wise) but the model in-the-flesh appears to be.
Cheers, H

Thats not as silly a suggestion as you think HRV.

Biante do reproduction models so they would have to have the correct colour and not only that if you haven't changed your own car to much you can pick up a model that represents your car for the display case.

Has anyone ever seen a Torana tagged as Ultra blue other than an A9X? The colour was introduced with the A9X.

It didn't last long in HZ either. It was removed in 11/78.

Yes I have. I have checked the tags to confirm it too. 4.2 SS. Here is a picture of it. It may even be coming up to toranafest this year.
