Hi everyone,

I have just rejoined the new website and have decided to attempt to post some pictures of my SS Torana. My name is Michael and I am a member of the Sydney Torana Club and NSW Torana Club. I have rebuilt my SS and added some period extra's like drop tank, hotwires, flare kit etc. It is a matching number car and a pleasure to drive,

Regards,

Michael.

Thanks Heath. I'm glad to know that the photo's worked. I stripped all the vinyl out of the car and boot and painted it white. It took a while to prepare it for painting by removing the contact glue, smalls dents and fixing welds. After I had the new boot mat made it looked too plain so I had the GMH logo stitched into it. Thanks Jason but I love my garage and couldn't trade it. As they say, 'every man needs a shed.' Built the garage about 10 years ago. Looks like a double garage from the street but is 6m wide x 18m deep. Will fit 6 cars but I have set it up for 4 with room for a workshop and storage etc. Regards Michael.

Thanks for the compliments guys and yes I was at the Tuggerah show with the NSW Torana Club (Had a great day there, plenty of cars to look at). Very impressed with your cars Julian. And yes again I was in Street Machine in September 2005 in the "People like us" section. The editor gave me a call and next thing there's a photo a me and my cars in there. :spoton:

My two favourite colours for a hatchback are white or red, so when I was painting my car, I only had to choose between the two. I painted my car in contillion white which is a gmh colour from 1976. To compliment it, I painted the bonnet and window surrounds black to give it the A9X look.

I have added some photo's of my GTR. It's a geniune 8/1973 GTR with alot of XU1 gear on it. Will be finished soon. Just have to finish off the trim, weld in the rust replacement panel (and remove the filler that the previous owner put on top of it), repaint the black paint in gloss and then get it registered (hopefully in April 2006). Then I will have two toranas on the road and the best of both worlds.

I have also added some photo's of my ute which is my latest project. It's a 1961-2 EK ute, very original car. Have finished the mechanics and underbody work. Just needs some cosmetic work to make her look as good as new again. :D

G'day Mick

The SS is looking as good as ever!!

MATE nice garage!! I just brought myself one that is roughly 12m x 6m (oh, it does have a house attached to it as well :spoton: ) It will fit at least 4 cars plus a workshop which allows me to look at other "project" once the SS is finished...

Your missus must be very "understanding" for you to have three "toys".

Hope to catch you at Toranafest this year too.

cheers
Mick

Hi Mick,
Good to hear from you. Congratulations on the new garage (and house of course). Should give you plenty of room to play with the SS. Looking forward to this years toranafest and yes my wife is very understanding. Doesn't care how many cars I have as long as she has one spot in the garage to park her car. Regards Mick. :D
