Well today i was talkin to a guy that walked past when i was workin on my torry. He started goin on about how great torries are and all the usual stuff, then he says he has got a few bits and pieces in his shed that i can help myself to as he wants to throw them out. so i go round and i couldn.t believe my eyes

i was like a kid in a candy shop.
1.2x3.08 lsd banjo centre
2.2x3.55 lsd banjo centre
3.2x3.36 lsd banjo centre
4.2x 9 inch housings with centres 1 lsd to suit torrie(lh-lx) not sure what splines yet
5.3x slr ash trays in black
6.2 slr instrument clusters (dont know if they work yet)
7.3x v8 boosters (yet to test) 1 chrome
8. and a heap of chrome bits and pieces like fan motors, wiper motors, bonnet &door hinges and catches, master cyl lids etc ( a 44 gallon drum full of them)
9.1x alloy drop tank

3 ute loads, and the best thing it was all for nothin..he just wanted rid of it..so after i work out what i want i may have some bits and pieces for sale.

i tried to give him some money or a couple of cartons but he just said no he wants rid of it.. so who was i to complain

there is also a few normal centres there in 3.08, 3.36, 3.55 and 3.9 ( i didn't know there was a 3.9)but most are coarse spline so they will be the first to be welded up. then have a bit of fun!!!! :rockon:

Once i use up the banjo's i can then have a look at the 9 inch's..

leakey i'm in gunnedah nsw so when i have a sort through and clean of everything i'll post up some bits for sale or giveaway...

...on that note, put me down for one of the V8 boosters and all the chromed parts you don't need. hahahaha

I reckon I got ripped off for a rebuild of the one I got (regarding price), and it didn't take long or much abuse for it to whin again :cry:

I find it ironic that it's all the stuff that there's a huge demand for... it's like someone coming up and giving you a box of escutcheon panels, silver LX dashes and A9X master cylinders... it just doesn't happen lol.

I would have been talking to his missus(providing he had one) to find out what he drank. A least a carton for generosity. LSD banjo centres, hard enough to come by and you score 6 in one go, lucky bastard. Good score but, just goes to show that the hard to find bits are still out there

You see...we are all looking in the wrong spot....Head west young men!!!!

I remember when 221 cranks (used for red 234 strokers) started to get hard to find.....I went home (West Wyalong) and went up to the wreckers to see if they had any 221's expecting to have to buy the whole engine...He let me get 3 cranks..$30 ea......I sold my last one for $150..wish I had more.

Might do some more searching. :spoton:

well i finally got around to sorting through some of it yesterday.. a mate from work has an lj xu1 so he got 2 lsd (3.36 and 3.08) centres and one of the nine inch housings. i'm keeping 1 lsd of each ratio the drop tank the other 9 inch and the boosters at this stage. so when i have a decent look at the remaining centres and ash trays ill put them up in the for sale forum.. i.m also going to hold on to the chrome bits and pieces until my old girl is together. not sure what i'll use yet.
