Yeah, Im pretty proud of that effort! hahaha, Should have heard the tone on the phone when I sent her the link and said "I want to buy this" lol.

wasnt exactly an "I love you honey, do what you think is best" kind of tone! hahaha

I know what you mean! When i told Maddy i was keen on spending all the insurance payout on a new car, I wasn't told exactly 'No' it was just the look of disappointment. I had to tell her, If you don't want me to get the car, you have to actually say 'Matt, I don't want you to get the car'

hahaha, I know that feeling and had that same conversation! lol.

This thing was just too cheap to pass up.

Funny thing is, I just listed all my spare front clip on ebay yesterday and then found this afterwoods! haha, and about 2 weeks ago I was looking a pictures of a nice straight white HX wagon and thinking it looked great and I might get one, oneday.

Funny how shit works out! lol.

So who can give me a good excuse to convince her it needs to become part of the family??

I already tried the "It can be a big dog kennel till we want to do something with it" that got shot down pretty quick! haha, so did the "its like a mobile shed I can store stuff in"

Thats my line of thought at the moment, both my uncles have acreages and probably wouldnt mind too much.

I just need to sell some things to make up the money.

Could be a good move. When complete it would be just as practical as the ute, even more so when you want to lock things away in a car.

Ive got a bit of an idea what I want to do to the wagon if we keep it, having trouble figuring out wheels that suit.

Im thinking low, something in black for the wheels, maybe red ring tyres and in 17"+ size

I tried some "spider web" style wheels and they looked a bit weird.

Anyone else want to have a go?

Ive got PS files if someone wants to have a better play with the orignal files, but those should do.

Should I or shouldnt I? :dontknow:

Ute will be finished soon (just need to get some more $$ together)

Im planning to sell the majority of the bits from the wagon for now, I just need to decide if Im going to keep the shell or scrap/sell it.

Nothing wrong with having more then two old cars todd! haha, Ive also got half the LJ track car, and an LC GTR that needs fixing! lol. plus the VT and eventually another daily (VE SSV sportswagon is on the pipe dream list, gotta find a better job first!)

Its ok, if she kicks me out of the bed, we have a spare room and a lounge! haha

Ive got a bigger shed to go in once my old man gets his new shed (buying his 6x6 off him for cheap)

Just playing the waiting game atm.

Once I get the ute finished and the torana ack to 100% then Im building a carport down the side of the house (Rays dad was a carpenter so he learnt everything from him, comes in handy!)

Wrong model but still oh so cool. Don't wreck the wagon, either sell it or keep it.

Well I think Ive changed my mind.

Karlie was just coming around to the idea of keeping the wagon, but I sat and had a good look at it, and decided theres too much work in it to put it back together (id have to buy another donor car for all the extra bits)

Im off to gosford swap meet in early june with whatever bits I havent sold, and the wagon shell (minus front doors)

Ive sold the doors to a panel beater mate, and the rest will be going up here and ebay shortly.

Its a shame to strip it down, but Im going to make more out of it in bits then I will selling it whole.

Its tough though, I get attached to old cars (for the same reasons everyone else does)

I'll feel like an absolute c.unt for stripping it down, but I just need the money more than anything.

In other good news, my front gaurds are up to $70 each (Ive got some bits on ebay)

Hopefully they sell, same with the radiator support and inner gaurds.

Will give me more ute money!

Gaurds wet for $152.50 EACH!

so $300 to spend on the ute straight away.

Still have tehe inner gaurds (dont seem too popular) Front apron (looks like its sold) and radiator support (looks sold) to go.

But in good news, Windows are going in tomorrow :D

Front windscreen supplied and fitted for $150

Rear window sealed in for $30

Happy as a pig in shit!

I plan to do a final bolt up of all the front end (lights, indicators, bumper etc) on the weekend

and then its burnout testing time! :burnout:
