i'm just wondering if i'm going to need an engineers cert when i eventually get my car registered. the only major changes is that i took out the 138 engine and reaplaced it with a 186, and changed the gearbox to a five speed celica box. do either of these modifactions warrant a cert.? thanks

I have never seen this mod. but would suggest using original "x' member if poss. and redrilling holes to suit. Any welding could draw attention at RWC time.

i have a celica box in my torrie and the x member is the standard one but with a plte welded to it for the celica mounts the welded plate is actually thinker then the orginal x memebrGearbox "x" member may be an issue.

as for the gearbox, you would need a cop deadset on giving you a canary to even notice
