the stock rb25 manual is way better than a crappy celica box.

"The stock RB25 manual is way better than a Celica box" would have been adequate. A celica box still shits over my M20 and I don't mind my M20, go easy on it

a na vl 5speed would be just as good as the celica box and bolt straight up.
im not being smart or nothing, its just a bad idea.

rb25 shares the same 9.5" flywheel as the naturally aspirated (na) vl commodore rb30.
though the 2 gearboxes are very different in terms of strength.
the vl na box(mf5) is a smaller box but it can still take some fair power before giving up the ghost.
the rb25 box is much bigger and is like a newer version of the vl turbo box(mx7).they can both hold huge hp in stock form.
the mx7 flywheel is bigger at 10" and will not fit inside a mf5 bellhousing or a rb25 bellhousing and a different startermotor is used on the mx7.
all rb blocks have the same bolt pattern at the back so all these boxes and more will bolt straight up.

only advantage i think with celica over rb20/na box is the length.
im using the rb20 (det) for now. put bigger/better bearings in the carrier, shotpeened shafts and gears, so hopefully it will see a couple of hot laps before it goes bang....
then its in with a r154

Leigh - any ideas how much bigger the R33 box is compared to the NA? Am I gonna have to do the trans tunnel again?
The NA VL box fits in the stock trans tunnel, thats what I have in there now. Its about 2 inches behind the stock spot for the shifter.
