An  ERRATA is  “a list of errors or corrections to be made (in a book).”

Amendment form 10/8V is the ERRATA as it is the document upon which a list of errors and corrections has been submitted and that list is headed as such.  ERRATA

10/8V lists and corrects errors in the recognised specifications to:-

Item 277 on Amendment sheet 6/6V and further qualified as being only the 1.25:1 third gear ratio specs that are in error.

Item 100  disc brake rotor O.D recorded on Form of Recognition  H2-3 is also in error.

The pistons also went into production with the July 1973 run of cars, along with various other components.......

The above clause in the 1973 Group C rules just serves to confirm that they did not need to homologate bigger disc rotors for the XU1 in 1973.

The race teams could use whatever discs they wanted provided the friction surface area of the discs and pads remained the same in area as the originals.

You should measure Anthony's 9/72 disc with your steel rule.

My pair of 1972 XU1 rotors. I get the same measurement of approx 255.5mm as in Anthony's pic of his 9/72 rotor.

Group E Series Production. Homologation of parts required to change brake components other than friction material.

likVeGR.jpg

Group C Improved Production. No Homologation required to change brake components (ie: disc for disc or drum for drum) as long as the replacements have the same friction surface area (SQ Inches/mm) as the original fitment components.

They are not 1972 front disc brake rotors, they are 1973 front disc brake rotors which went into production from the 1st of July 1973.......

Both items 277 and 100 on the form come under the heading ERRATA.

An  ERRATA is  “a list of errors or corrections to be made (in a book).”

There were NO new bigger disc brake rotors from 1 July 1973.

Ha ha the laugh of the century , ffs what difference would 2mm make to a disc rotor ? It's just a variance figure that cams allowed the manufactures to have and variances were on most parts .

2mm is about the size of a fly or crab dick

they did not need to homologate bigger disc rotors for the XU1 in 1973.

There were NO new bigger disc brake rotors from 1 July 1973 and they did not need to homologate bigger disc rotors for the XU1 in 1973.

To prove this to be correct is a simple task : Provide us with a list of July and August run of LJ XU-1,s which have the standard disk rotor (254mm) and provide us with a COD (Certificate of Description) or Recognition document from the 1 July 1973 stating no changes to the brakes. As we all know every change requires homologation no matter how small. So I will sit back now and wait for your proof to emerge..........

I do have another question for you though, because of the great wealth of knowledge you have about C.A.M.S. and the 1973 LJ GTR XU-1

Its a simple question for someone with your wealth of knowledge : When were the conrods, pistons and inlet manifold etc incorporated into production in July 1973 ?

This should be good........

What 254mm rotors? XU1 rotors were always 256mm OD (nominal)
