I know it was disscussed before but i cant remember where to get this stuff, (weld thru primer) i think someone here restoring an LX Hatch used this stuff when he replaced his sill, im in sydney so where would i get this primer, if i remember correctly someone recomended Volvo?? If so would any Volvo dealer sell this?
I have done a search and found Wurth zinc rich weld thru primer, would i have any paint compatability issues?
Thanks guys

The wurth product is very good, i've never used the Volvo version (I think LX304 recommends it, must be alright) You can buy Weld through primer at any Automotive paint supply shop and its normally in Aerosol form.

Apply it to the bare surfaces your going to weld together

example : (car body) --> ]*[ <---(panel your welding on)

The * is the surfaces you need to spray which mate together that your welding.

Once your finished welding i'd recommend cleaning off any left over just to be safe but im confident it wont affect your paint, particularly if your using two-pack

Most brands of Weld-thru primer will be fine to use, talk to your local paint supplier and get some recommendations

I think ill get another manufacturer if wurth dont pan out.

Yes we use the Blue VOLVO weld thru primer, good stuff.
Whoever does volvo spare parts (NEW) eg Trivetts, etc should stock it.

Wurth is generally a lot more expensive but good quality.

I wouldnt touch the super cheap K&H pressure pack can stuff.

I actually bought the Tremco brand, is that any good?? it says, Cold Galvanising, zinc rich coating for long term protection.

So far i have cut out the rusted corner of my parcel shelf and made up a template from photo paper, traced that onto sheet metal which used to be a bonnet of some Jap buzz box, cut it out with the air saw, a bit of hammering, made up a die from mild steel and put a curve in it as the shelf cormer has a slight curve, same curve as the lower window section.
Iv tacked welded that onto the shelf and trial fit it in the car, it fits pretty well.
How do i post pics on here, sorry i know its been asked a million times.
